What's absurd... someone pondering if well exists or not or maybe only x percentage of the wells actually exist because this all a ponzi scheme? Anyone actually counted all 69k wells? Come on all you shorters that's the money maker rumour to spread, for get all this capping nonsense. lol
Hi it may sound absurd but there are plenty of example of business running for years based on ponzi like setup, take your pick. The big fuss around wells has helped, no one saying where are these wells then but what if someone did. Statements can be faked and auditors can be fooled. How many on here actually been to count these wells, talked to locals... have you? That's what we're buying into right. Anything that adds to confirmation of the wells.. not worried about how it costs to cap them.
Hi I don't see why not. My thoughts are... were all previous divi paid dependant on the share price?Trading still inline with expectations so why would the divi policy change. If divi were going to be an issue then you wouldn't be doing BB. Yes there are pov for saving cash. I'm here cos of the consistent divi as paid out since 2017. Yes it could change but in the words of Dragons Den .. I am happy to go this journey... with Rusty. My biggest concern before was that none of these wells actually existed hence sp down and it was all fake wells but with all the recent fuss about well capping been a big help to confirm as well as impact on sp. Now I don't have to spend as much buying for the same result my spreadsheet tells me for the same risk of long term consistent stable divi.
A statement with no words like facing strong headwinds, challenging macro economics environments, etc. (the words usually indicating lower profits and layoffs to come)... just we would prefer higher gas prices but then wouldn't we all. Money in bank for rainy days, Plus continued BB at doller cost averaging. All we need now is divi increased inline with inflation in March, which is all I care about. Share price can stay low until I fill my boots.
Not sure why all the speculation from many people about well plugging costs. Dec have plugged many well so far and so presumably know exactly the costs. Why not just let the Dec managers worry about it... don't we pay them to do that? It's like worrying how much it costs to clean a room after the guest have left... it's the hotel mangers job. Just accept it's a cost to the business, like in any other business. Just my thoughts... please continue if it helps steady the nerves.
Happy to be picking up more at this level today... my investing goals horizon just got that little bit shorter and a smaller potential outlay. Like I said before happy for it not to rise whilst still drip feeding this bad boy lol. Just another year... keep it under your hat. This time next year Rodney we'll be... !?
At current SP 100k for c.25k annual income... do you really care where SP is at day to day? Divi have been consistent, no profit warning as yet... wars, inflation, oil prices, covid, etc. Honestly, I could retire right now if I had 100k, i' m not even in my 50s. Just need another year and a bit at these prices or lower and I will be fully retired. I look at this as an super opportunity... not to get rich overnight but to set myself up for the rest of my life.
TBH Also happy for SP to stay low until after April 2024, new tax year, so I can fill my ISA boots. So the people making a fuss can keep on it. When the spice melange stops flowing then I'll be worried... Fear is the main jd killer.
Buy the dip is all I'll say... the wells were all there before dec arrived so can't see what fuss is about. c.21% divi happy to take that all day long. I was happy when 14%. Just show me the money each year will soon recoup any drop, long term.
Just to add. The day Dec stops paying divi... so until then best not to worry hey. If it is good enough for MNG to hold and not divest when SP was higher then assuming they are in for the long haul.... where else are I am going park £££ in Ftse 250 and get 12% Income? The SP going to bounce around... came for the divi play. A quarterly income hopefully for a very long time without doing sod all wok is risk I am happy to take. SP like gas prices not in Dec control. But any of that go woke go broke mismanagement like with Bud Light and Disney then I am out. Buffet.. "If you aren’t willing to own a stock for 10 years, don’t even think about owning it for 10 minutes.” Good luck to all.
Where else are we going to get c. 12% divi... it would only worry me if Dec business modelled relied on pumping and promising this high rate of return like a crypto or investment scheme. The company doesn't look like it is being mismanaged (Bud light or Disney scale). I am assuming the company will do what it needs to do maintain the divi... buy more fields, etc in the years ahead. Rinse and repeat. As stated in the result... future success is dependent on gas and prices which is beyond their control so they are being clear about it. So as long as Dec can do the work as efficiently as possible and manage the risk reasonable then that's all we can expect. It sounds like Dec has the next 12 months under control, in Board's view.
