Robert Bernhardsson again :)14 Feb 2018 16:54
Now the municipal council, Robert Bernhardsson, answers the criticisms of the municipality's referral to the government regarding mining in Gllok.
The political majority in Jokkmokk wants a mine in Gllok and prefers it in a referral to the government. Criticism from the municipality's third largest party, the Environmental Party is sharp because it is considered that the matter should have been dealt with by the municipal government first.
But the Social Democratic Council of Commons Robert Bernhardsson contradicts the Environmental Party.
"You risk Jokkmok's future when you measure Jokkmokk as a place where no one else is accommodated, but of course there are more people," says Bernhardsson to Sameradion & SVT Spmi.
In his criticism, the Environment Party's Henrik Blind has emphasized that reindeer husbands also contribute to municipal welfare, but now they will be sacrificed at the municipal altar for the "real" jobs.
Blind thinks instead that the political majority should lift his eyes and begin to realize that Jokkmokk does not need any mines, but rather sustainable jobs.
But the municipality council, Robert Bernhardsson, who wrote the opinion of the municipality, thinks the environmental party is wrong and actually raises its eyes.
"We work very forward-looking. What separates the Social Democrats from the environmental party is that we see that the number of jobs is very important for Jokkmokks Municipality, and we need to work constructively to create more jobs in Jokkmokk, says Bernhardsson, adding:
"It's the environmental party that placed us in this union where everything should be put together. I think that is very nasty.
Bernhardsson argues that it is unfortunate that labor in Jokkmokk, which lost 41 percent of its population since 1968, is unfortunate. There were 8720 people in the municipality now 5105 people live in Jokkmokk (2016).
Bernhardsson thinks that more industries are in Jokkmokk and he emphasizes the importance of getting more in working age to the municipality.
- This gives jobs and these belong in the municipality together with existing jobs. It is not particularly shrewd to oppose each other. Of course, one can find a good solution for everyone.
Bernhardsson says that the mine generates a few hundred jobs and it means he is important to Jokkmokk.
In addition, Bernhardsson thinks that the Environmental Party is trying to trick people when it comes to the planned mining's geographical location. He says that political representatives, national and international, believe that Kallak is located within Laponia's world heritage, although it is not so according to him.
"Many have gone to the environmental party's bluff, they have been fooled by their description where the shelter lies, there are many who believe that Kallak is in a forest area, and that's not true, it's used forest since 100 years," said
