Industrial production in China increased by 35.1% in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2020, according to the country's National Bureau of Statistics. The figure came in slightly above expectations of around 32%.
The data released on Monday showed that the value added in the mining sector grew by 17.5% year-on-year, manufacturing was up by 39.5%, while electricity, heat power, gas and water rose by 19.8%. The value of equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing grew by 59.9% and 49.2% respectively.
