Biden: Unvaccinated overcrowd US hospitals -RED NECKS DYING OFF9 Sep 2021 23:38
People still not vaccinated against the coronavirus overcrowd hospitals in the United States, President Joe Biden said on Thursday.
"We're in the tough stretch" regarding the pandemic "and it could last for a while," he said in a speech at the White House. Three-quarters of Americans eligible for a vaccine have received at least one shot, but 80 million in total did not get inoculated, Biden noted, adding that virus summer data has shown that "only one out of every 160,000 fully vaccinated Americans was hospitalized" due to the disease. Therefore, vaccines offer "strong protection" from severe illness, he also underlined.
Biden criticized the spread of the virus misinformation and "elected officials" who are "actively working to undermine" the vaccination efforts. "A distinct minority of Americans, supported by a distinct minority of elected officials, are keeping us from turning the corner," he pointed out.
