At the beginning of 2021 market spot price of gas was 60p a therm.
Today it was over 400p a therm and some UK industries using gas are close to shutting down.
The UK is grossly exposed as our power stations still use around 45% gas, while planned maintenance is being undertaken on some UK gas rigs. We have gas storage for just a week and even worst we have left the EU internal energy market.
