EU to buy Russian gas via 'remaining channels' - report27 Apr 2022 13:49
The European Union will "significantly" increase purchases of Russian natural gas through "remaining channels," an anonymous source from "EU institutions in Brussels" told TASS on Wednesday.
The measure will be "temporary" and will enable EU countries that do not want to pay for Russian gas in accordance with Moscow's special payment system, such as Poland and Bulgaria, to acquire gas on the bloc's market, including from member states that comply with new Russian regulations.
In addition, the insider confirmed that the cooperation within the EU is centered on increasing gas supplies, especially liquefied natural gas (LNG).
