One more bear case .

The famous sell in May and go away.

This time does feel different.

But I have lost count of the number of times I have used that after we get above £5.

When in doubt sell half.

But I know you will wrestle with it and make your own decisions

There is always a number that you decide will make you sell

( although personally when we get there I often try for just a little more)

It’s a nice problem to have.

We hit £5.37 and all I did was moan.

Maybe I’m turning into Gingy.( only joking, you have been good since we hit £5)

I will be fine after my holiday

Feeling slightly underwhelmed by the rise in sp.

£5.30 s is nice to be back to, but we were here in October.

Plenty of headlines about the fact BP was looked at.

Maybe we need some headlines in the weekend papers saying we are worth £x.

I would say if Shell have any thought of BP this would make them have to decide.

I would think that if it’s even being discussed at Shell, they would not want someone else to get it cheap.

They are also the one company that probably would have little political problems buying BP.

And if they are not discussing BP behind closed doors, they better start.

Stay calm ,at least until market opens.

Then hopefully Yehaaaaaaaaaaaa to some wonderful sp.

It used to be said that a report like these would put a company in play for a take over, as others would suddenly feel they were missing out.

You do often see a second bidder still appear for a company no one wanted last week.

Interesting times.

It did happen in 1987 after the government flotation.

The Kuwait Investment Office (KIO) announced on 18 November 1987 that it had, in fact, snapped up 10 per cent of BP.

The government made BP buy most of them back.

Who knows what would happen now.

Just noticed I got a special Good morning this morning.

Been rather hectic

2 granddaughters had sleep over last night.

Been a long 36 hrs.

Especially the bit since woken 06:00 hrs.

They go home in 90 minutes.

It’s been fun, but I’m shattered.

I need a holiday.

On a BP note the steady foundation building for the next leg up in sp is encouraging.

Oil price still deciding what the new range is.

Personally think it’s in the Goldilocks range just now ,not too high( $90 is just perfect).

There are no silly questions.

You sometimes get surprised with the knowledge people have.

If you never ask you never find out.

The worst I have seen professionally is people who felt they could not ask a certain question,and then could never ask later because by then they really should know,and not knowing would not look good on them.

That’s way beyond my pay grade.

I mainly look for patterns after the event.

But mostly in oil and BP.

My own thoughts would be it will be delayed a couple of months, but that is totally a guess.

Looks like spoke too soon oil dropping again, below $90 for Brent.

Think it looks like US cpi coming in higher than expected spooked the markets.

DOW down 400 points.( higher interest rates for longer as inflation may be back)

Oil took a quick tumble ,but already is showing strength again.

Last year an excuse like this would have been used to take oil, and then BP down.

Think now finally the penny has dropped that it’s OPEC that’s in charge of oil prices.

So on countdown.

Sp finally appears to have some connections to oil price.

Sp about 10% of 52 week high, oil price about 5% off 52 week high.

Think the Shell US rumours have also helped.
