15% up in Canada -nice onwards and upwards please

For my input I worked in the aggregate industry until recently and prices today are approximately 40% ahead of prices two years ago and I understand another price increase letter has just gone out to customers from one of the larger suppliers
I also went thought two recessions which did not hurt us in the supply business too much
As for the sp struggling to find a reason other than market sentiment
Breedon continues to be my largest holding and with hindsight perhaps I should have sold some at 90p or above but I had no need so I am where I am but hoping
For a return to those levels soon GLA

I believe overall construction numbers are down and material shortages are not helping but I would not think this would apply to quarrying unless there is still a driver shortage which I do not believe this is the case
I did asked about blackrock reducing their position perhaps they know something we don’t
Cant believe they have dropped this low !

I have been here for a long time and having worked for them for a number of years have confidence in their management
Agree with the comment on cost and would assume like most companies are keeping a close eye on them

Noticed Blackrock recently reduced their position in Breedon and have now done the same in Sigmaroc

I don’t disagree with anything you say and indeed Breedon is my largest holding by far therefore I want to be positive on the company
Couple of points I would make are
October/November/December generally tend to be very busy months in the quarrying industry with supply plants flat out
I would also point out quarrying companies often buy each other’s materials dependent on material availability in particular areas
Breedon shares have tended to stagnate over the last few weeks whilst other material suppliers appear to doing a little better
I’m just trying to work out where their growth Is coming from
I hope I’m being pessimistic and It becomes unwarranted

Does the sale of 100 pubs (daily Mail 15.01.2022) have any implications for us ?
We have an agreement to manage 156 of their pubs

Disappointment is the word here.Since the original management left one by one this appears to Following a downward trend.I was optimistic that this would be a case of onwards and upwards but now I am nervous -I understand this is not one of the more sexy shares but was hoping for a bit more

My limited input is that other Than March the busiest period for the quarrying companies are November and December and the Breedon plant by me has been working days and nights which I assume is replicated with their other plants within the company which are allow to work outside normally hours so I assume plenty of revenue

My bit of knowledge and the reason I am invested is the involvement of Mr P Tom who grew Aggregate Industries into one of the top five quarrying companies in the UK and subsequently sold out to Holcim and then did the same with Breedon -grew them into the largest independent in the U K before what I thought was to retire -I am also in Bree who are a well run company with a well respected reputation within the aggregate supply industry
Should Mr Tom be anywhere near as successful with Bay as he has been previously I will be more than happy
