Company is finished as an AIM tradeable share in my view

They are parking most peoples investments in the back drawer until the sales come through - by which time they will be so diluted as no money coming our way

They are clearly on the cusp of this being viable but it is quite touch and go - the tech however works and the units look good

It really needs a social media campaign from a deaf child / parents to drive the gentamicin one - slightly surprised they havent done that

There is almost no litigation in the UK for antibiotic induced deafness so less pressure than in the US - once introduced in US the hospitals will be forced by litigation to test as they cant afford not to

Similarly here it would only take a few patients families where they were put on clopidogrel to prevent a future stroke and it didnt work to sue and that would change things

If you treat someone's stroke and stick them on clopidogrel which is the main drug and you could have found out it wasnt going to work

bit of a problem if they then have stroke number 2 and end up disabled or dead....

Same with teh deafness - could have been prevented - why did you not test - legal claim

If only all companies were this well run!

I dont personally see the NHS as being the key market here

The litigation impact of deafness is an American thing for sure and no doubt other areas of the world. £100 for a test to avoid a £1million lawsuit for an American hospital is a no brainer - a much better adoption. Once sales kick off there then the paltry current valuation will transform - annoyingly GDR will almost certainly get bought out.

In most NHS units the cost of the test kit falls into paediactrics

the NICE cost analysis showed that the benefits arise longer term from different budgets held mostly by Specialised Commissioning teams. So the cost is never offset for the paediatric unit against a benefit to their budget - so progress limited

THis needs a committed team to introduce locally or more likely a more national view on the use of these machines - some good PR with a baby made deaf by antibiotics to tug at heart strings maybe

NICE plus real world evidence and colleagues talking at clinical conferences will translate into use

Agree with Emerald re States - litigation costs there for a deaf baby are over $1m per baby

That is not the case interestingly in the UK which is why in the NHS there is more difficulty getting a business case for this one over the line - despite it clearly being the "right" thing to do

As such their "acquiring" of shares was most likely to get that over the line as not enough interest from PIs / Institutional buyers to do so.

Getting it over the line means they get their fee

Must have taken a view that was better - or it was in their contract for the placing / offer to do so ie mop up any residuals

As such there is no a stock overhang effectively that as an investment bank they are unlikely to want to retain the holding longterm

NICE guidance is not optional - there is a massive focus on health inequalities and if someone in the 30% has an adverse event due to either under or over metabolism of clopidogrel then there will be a legal liability. So Trusts and providers will have to be using this test. Would expect very rapid uptake across the NHS
