Continental Europe seeking UK natural gas in July on Asian LNG price rise London (Platts)--21 Jun 2018 851 am EDT/1251 GMT Storage capacity holders in Continental Europe may switch tactics in order to refill reservoirs next month as UK NBP pricing has become much more attractive so far during June compared to LNG pricing, an analysis by S&P Global Platts showed Thursday. Continental European storage capacity holders may be looking towards the UK and Interconnector flows once the bi-directional pipeline comes back from its annual shutdown on June 28. Flows from the UK to Continental Europe through the Interconnector have been two-thirds lower so far during the summer-delivery period when compared to the same time last year. However, the UK-Continental European arbitrage has widened sharply in recent days, potentially allowing for more gas to be flowed from the UK to Belgium and beyond as a result.

The potential for Infa is huge - it's clear that medium range storage facilities are the way forward in terms of not just secure supplies but also in terms of potential revenue due to their ability to complete several full cycles during the year. Their ability to inject and withdraw quickly will be key not to just meet peak gas demand in the winter but as back up when renewables can't deliver the required demand which is quite often. The beauty about Infa is it's strategic location - only 50yrds from the existing SNIP, reverse flow which will allow the supply of gas to not just the whole of Ireland but the UK too. Once constructed will help supply the huge increase in demand Ireland will have for gas due to the gas expansion programmes underway, construction of Belfast power station and phase out of coal and peat which are highly damaging to the environment. Infa now has a projected 40+ yr life and sure - there could be the potential to add more caverns subject to planning as larne lough itself is certainly big enough to accommodate more imo if the demand for extra caverns requires it in the future. Infa would be perfect for pension funds with it's safe, secure projected annual income. The extra appeal for Infa is the jetty round the corner by Ballylumford power station which could accommodate super LNG tankers. Lots of possibilities here.

Setanta - if news lands to confirm full funding for construction I would expect the Mcap to head towards £30M (3p a share) by Q1 2019. Upon completion of construction with say 2 caverns (along with other milestone achievements along the way) I would expect the Mcap to be at least at the £100-150M mark (10-15p a share). This reflects the project level construction investment of £300M, the fact we will be making money on 150mcm of gas storage and the revision of a 40+ yr life. With all 8 caverns in play £300M Mcap (30p a share). Perhaps one other possibility could also be to add even further caverns (subject to planning of course) which in theory could work out very cost effective.
