Reports of the imminent death of dairy farming have been grossly exaggerated. I have just watched the man on youtube explaining what a dreadful industry it is. It truly is pure nonsense i cannot say any more for fear of a heart attack.
Formo produces whey or hopes to. Can you imagine trying to sell this whey produced in a lab to traditional french cheese producers? never ever would they touch it .

Members of this bulletin board will be delighted to know that as a dairy farmer facing ruin in a few short years I have decided to fight back. I am installing a milk vending machine on the farm so people can buy milk direct cutting out the middleman and all the processes that go with that. The milk bought at the farm will be no older than 24hrs zero food miles and no plastic containers (reusable glass bottles supplied). This should stop the lab milk people in their tracks.

Please don't be concerned for me I'm nearly 60 and will have retired long before any lab milk could affect me. Mr. Mellon's prediction of only 10 yrs before the dairy industry is wiped out is plainly ridiculous. If this was the case farmers would be selling up now to preserve a little of their capital .

I am a dairy farmer .........should I just kill myself now? Regarding the copious amounts of sewage poisoning our waterways.
I should like to point out that more human sewage enters our waterways via the water companies than any farm pollution. Depending on where you live some of your own poo may be bobbing along as we speak........

I would like to point out that hormone use in beef cattle in Europe has been banned for years. Antibiotics are only used when strictly necessary and when thay have been used the animal cannot be slaughtered for a specified number of days

A good number of cheeses are protected and can only be made in a certain area and called a specific name. So unless Formo set up factories in these areas they won't be able to make them.
