Agree...looks like Newcrest are going to be pushed out from SOLG and as such will be happy to concentrate on their's interest here.....not as big asset but much safer,and 1 bird in hand is better than 2 on the tree....hopefully will get them fully committed ....

Fortitude, I hope you are right...investing in exploration companies is always big risk as most are going bust or ended up at the hands of the big boys for very little leaving share holders with even less....only very few giving good returns....LJ has very good record in this business,hence I bought in,and still holding,but his bosses are not as trusty....(being diplomatic here....)no point for me selling now so I hope this will come at least half decent good for our sake....ATB.

The main problem is the tunnel getting longer and longer....is it wonder you can't see the light????....I am still holding so hopefully there is a light somewhere...until then, shoved it in the bottom of the bottom drawer..(got a bit of room now as moved few others to the one above....ATB.

Only because of the placing....few in the know sold for few weeks knowing they can buy them back (and more....) as part of the placing...wish I could do the same....

Agree....and put my money where my mouth is.....got mine for 22p first thing...short term unrest which may give faithful even a better price to add,but if you can ignore the near term SP fluctuations (or better take advantage....) then,good rewards awaiting....as always DYOR, and GLA SOLGers.

I have lots of respect to NM for what he has achieved and done for SOLG.....HOWEVER, I think he is playing with fire recently and really hopes is not going to get burned....and us with him......the man is a legend so I hope he is not trying to jump a little too high with his ambition....see what unfold now.

Bad news short term with massive dilution....HOWEVER, it is what it is....well funded now ant out of the way so opportunity to buy few on the open market with sweet jam tomorrow....will probably take a punt myself....GLA.

Cookie, I am sure we will mate....I have big part of my portfolio here for many years now,and probably for few more years to come....this late news today was a big surprise to me (and many others....) but I said before and say it again I have faith and trust in NM although not always happy about his ways....YET, he is Mr. SOLG and I am sure he will take us to the "promised land"...eventually.....ATB.

This surprise cash call explains the recent SP retrace...surely few in the know big investors sold shares in the last few days fully knowing they can buy them (and more...) throw the up and coming placing....not the first and definitely not the last of practice in this adults money game...

Got the closing date wrong....oh well,will have to see what tomorrow brings before deciding to add or not...not worried as opportunities are always there to take...and not only here...GLA folks for whatever your do.

Wow,just logged in to discover these 2 after hour RNS's...totally surprised to have this sort of fund raising....NM must have very good reason for this fast and cheap cash call....not really impressed but not worried too much as it's only involving small dilution.
Will wait and sleep on it tonight,see the market reaction and only then decide if to take part or buy my trading pot in the open market....
