Have you looked where Tasmania is on the map! Do you realise their shipping costs are sky high compared to Port Hedland.
Also they were producing 57% Fe and "the discount for its 57% iron ore has also widened to 30% from 10%".
There were also months of protests there from Green activists!

UFO is superbly located just by Newman. Low Operating Costs & low shipping costs from Port Hedland. High-grade iron ore needed to produce Green Steel for steel mills to meet their emissions targets (when Rio & FMG are producing at unsuitable ave of 56% Fe).

If you told me a couple years ago (when UFO was effectively a shell company) we would have got Hanc0ck to this level and developed a first-class team and owned all of the Munni Munni +US5bn PGM & Gold project (opened at depth & along strike with only 20% tested), I would never have believed it.

Do people know the distance to port for other juniors?

GWR= 750km to Geraldton!

Han**** is 435km to Port Hedland (easy straight route up Northern Highway). Very big difference.

FOB Operating costs US$58/t.
Shipping costs = US$20/t.
So their breakeven is IO at US$78. They have lower haulage costs since bought out Newhaul (however UFO are 55km closer to port than Fenix).
Also UFO will have lower mining costs for the ridges (strip ratio 1:1, Fenix strip is almost 3 times more at 2.86:1 meaning they will have to mine almost 3x as much to get the same quantity of DSO).
UFO's FOB costs of $58/t are for mine we the whole deposit including sirius, so should be much cheaper surface mining the ridges.

Also our big cost savings will be shipping. Anglo American will sort the shipping and will get standard rates from Port Hedland which are currently just $8.05/t. Han**** will be a very nice money earner.

They will be using Green Steel which requires high-grade Iron Ore feedstock (Rio & FMG have ave of 56% Fe which will be unsuitable).

They are also building the largest green hydrogen plant in the world. Green hydrogen relies on PGMs.

With leftist Lula winning the Brazil Presidential election and vowing to fight deforestation caused by Iron Ore mining and is also looking to raise mining royalties, the future for Aussie Iron Ore is very bright.

Funds for new projects will flow to the Pilbara. As Rod said in interview, lucky for UFO:
