Disko is the big play here not Dundas. Noril'sk is the most valuable mineral deposit in the world, but it's in Russia and is very dirty. What do you think 49% of that would be worth? In a clean geo-politically friendly jurisdiction ... At least $10bn would be my guess.

We have to wait until 2024, but they only need 3 or 4 drill hits of the right type to prove the Noril'sk theory.

Don't get me wrong I really like the ilmenite and they are right to bring it in to production first but it's essentially just a bootstrap operation.

Not sure what you mean. Norilsk Nickel does not operate in Botswana. They do have a mine in South Africa though.

They have had issues back home in Russia recently. A large diesel spill, and being forced by the government to stop putting sulphur dioxide in to the atmosphere. Perhaps that is what you were thinking of?

The shares out number for CHN is very similar to KAV, so that makes comparisons quite simple. When I last looked CHN was trading at over $7 (Aus).

Basically, whenever you purchase an NFT you will pay a warranty fee to the "vault" or custodian which pays for the legal confirmation of the thing's existence. Mattereum will take 30% of this fee (initially), and each token will give a 1% discount on the Mattereum component. So 100 tokens will save you 30%.

The tokens spent on the discount will be "burnt" i.e. removed from the supply.

Vijay has given details on Telegram of how the (currently non-existent) Mattereum token will work. Must read stuff, and very material to Valereum (as a "customer" of Mattereum).

Have now watched the presentation.

So, the first NFT will be for Valereum shares. This makes sense from a practical perspective, and will also give other potential on-boarders confidence that the company is prepared to drink its own whisky as it were.

For me the most interesting question will then be which crypto exchange(s) it will be listed on? This matters for credibility, as there are lots of dodgy ones around. The second question might then become whether the NFT ends up driving the value of the company or the conventional stock markets?

There is little point trying to promote a UK stock on Reddit or any other US-centric boards. The punters have no ability to trade over here.

Really not sure about how the whole custodial "vault" part will work. What will be true though is that once an NFT for a security exists it de facto escapes "into the wild" and can be listed by crypto exchanges at will (or not). Blockchains are inherently permissionless.

I have not revised my previous opinion that Synthetix is basically quite crap, however looking at the trading activity for this token may be instructive.

Just looking at today, the 24 hour volume is over $80m, and that is split over more than 100 trading pairs on many many different exchanges. It is this fantastic liquidity and diversity and efficiency of trading venue that the Valereum Bridge can potentially bring to equities and bonds etc.

There will not just one token, there will be lots. NFTs for each security, and possibly also some "utility" tokens to make things work.

I am looking forward to details of all this.

I am not impressed, it's basically a crypto bucket shop. There is no order book and users of the exchange are trading against the "house" (the smart contract) on prices from market data providers. This is even worse than how spread betting works.

The only backing for the synthetic assets ("synths") is the SNX token itself, which is traded on proper exchanges. So, in theory if the aggregate value of SNX were to drop below a certain level versus the value of the "synths" the whole thing could collapse in on itself.

It's a vehicle for DeFi fiends who don't understand the first thing about how financial markets actually work. Mattereum and the Valereum bridge are orders of magnitude better tech IMO.

I could do without all this bickering.

You should really go read the Mattereum Telegram board. This stuff is a) very hard to do and b) going to be absolutely massive. I predict that if/when the Mattereum token arrives it will have a multi-billion dollar market cap. So even if Valereum is just considered as an equity proxy for Mattereum (obviously it's a lot more than that) 300p might well prove to be a bit on the low side.
