Is there a bid coming...?27 Jan 2021 13:50
I can't help feeling this is being prepped for a bid by an outside party...
According to this website, the holders over 3% are:
Western Areas Limited 178,611,112 £17,861,111.47 18.4%
M&G Plc 132,136,364 £13,213,636.60 13.6%
Sand Grove Capital Management LLP 94,748,052 £9,474,805.34 9.8%
HSBC Holdings PLC 87,743,804 £8,774,380.53 9.0%
Affinity Capital Limited 85,187,497 £8,518,749.83 8.8%
Then you have the 'new' investor that Rod sold 20m shares to 2.1%
That lot adds up to 61.7%
Then you have shorters banging the price down both yesterday and today (could even be Sandgrove if they're involved in teeing up a bid, as they are a Hedge Fund and in they last Major Holdings RNS they held another 7.1% in 'other financial instruments", so that takes us to 68.8%.
They took part in the Feb 2018 placing at 22p and both they and HSBC bought further chunks at 23/24 in March 2018...
Hedge funds aren't charities and surely these holders could be tempted with a bid around the 30p mark...
As others have pointed out, good news seems to be followed by the price being marked down...
Yesterday was the highest volume traded since Rod sold his shares and the 5th highest since July last year in an otherwise quiet market for junior miners...
This is an outstanding set of mining prospects in a territory which has opened up massively since climate change and solidly supported by both the Greenland and Denmark Sovereign Funds...what is there not to like for a would be buyer...
And the off takes have been bought by the Chinese....
All thoughts and suggestions welcome...and no I'm not ramping...just looking for a reason for yesterdays smash down and today's lack of follow through...
