Oh and BTW, having visited the sites of two abandoned cryolite mines during my trip, I don't believe people on here can begin to imagine how remote, barren, difficult and lonely the terrain is.
The entire population of Greenland is 56,000 and 19,000 live in Nuussaq.
The nearest village to Disko has a population of 53...
There is no infrastructure in the immediate vicinity.
Nussuaq (Nuuk) and Kangerlussuaq are the only airports capable of handling large aircraft.
The latter is in the West with no overland route at all, 231km from Disko.
Nuuk airport was constructed to serve the largest town in Greenland, yet due to space constraints at the location in a mountainous area and problems with the weather, it is unable to service large airliners or flights reaching Denmark or other countries, except for Iceland. Sometimes, in connection with events, aircraft for VIP flights are chartered which unable to reach Nuuk, a change to a small local aircraft (normally at Kangerlussuaq Airport) is always needed in those cases. A large expansion of the airport has been controversial due to the approach near the urbanized area of the outlying districts of Nuuk, although the issue continues to be a subject of internal debate in Greenland.
A new international airport is slated for completion in 2024
Nussuaq is 590km from Disko.
There are no landing strips even for light aircraft in much of Greenland and all 'international' flights have to go via Denmark or Iceland.
So heavy gear would have to arrive by ship and it takes days even from Iceland to get to Disko or Dundas.
Personnel would have to come in by ship or helicopter...
I was shocked at tha massive loss of glacier ice and permafrost is becoming less of a challenge, but the weather will always be a factor...
So I believe that even Kobold will need the help of a major miner with experience of drilling and mining in remote locations...
Hope this helps...
