Doc, Those results would be absolutely exceptional and probably unrealistic based on the large variety of settings the trial has taken place in, the differing standards of care between each countries etc etc.
You need to look at what is currently available in hospital treatment and it is very limited. MAb's are basically now redundant until rejigged and basically trialled again. Dexamethasone which was hailed as a huge success provides a small benefit in late stage disease and little to no benefit in reduction of death in those receiving oxygen and non respiratory support cohorts.
"In the dexamethasone group, the incidence of death was lower than that in the usual care group among patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation (29.3% vs. 41.4%; rate ratio, 0.64; 95% CI, 0.51 to 0.81) and among those receiving oxygen without invasive mechanical ventilation (23.3% vs. 26.2%; rate ratio, 0.82; 95% CI, 0.72 to 0.94) but not among those who were receiving no respiratory support at randomization (17.8% vs. 14.0%; rate ratio, 1.19; 95% CI, 0.92 to 1.55)."

So IMO anything from about 20-25% reduction in progressing to mechanical ventilation/death would be a good result. However with the targeting of the 'breathless' patient group in this trial I am hoping to see a much greater benefit than that.
