Sentiment is definitely becoming more positive towards crypto firms and digital currencies . This week the Financial Conduct Authority has published proposals for issuing stablecoins, which it said will allow UK crypto firms to “ compete internationally.”

Farage has announced Reform UK’s Cryptoassets and digital finance bill at the Las Vegas Bitcoin conference. The intention is to make London a major crypto trading centre . Appears to be following Trumps lead but all very good for sentiment in this sector..

Watched an online video recently when Professor Ronjon explained the origins of the name R42 . It comes from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy novel . The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything , as calculated by the supercomputer Deep Thought…is “42” . I’m guessing the R is short for Ronjon.

Investors/traders/gamblers back in the day (1999-2000) will recall the astonishing rise of a number of micro and small cap public listed companies during the dot.com boom. It’s feasible that the current AI boom will see similar huge market cap increases in a small number of listed companies in the AI field.

A company named Durlacher , a UK technology investment bank, grew from a very small cap to a valuation of over £2 billion in 2000 before the bubble burst . Durlacher invested in unquoted new technology companies .Ultimately, company revenues just couldn’t justify the market cap but it did almost join the ftse 100 before its shares collapsed when the dot com bubble burst in 2001.

To date, we have not seen the flood of speculative firms that listed during the 1999-2000 dot.com bubble. I believe CapAI has a good chance of being a winner with the management we have. Nothing is guaranteed but CapAI may be primed for explosive growth.

Continuing the optimistic guessing game started on 1st May regarding Esmond Hwee's Linkedin post about leaving his post at Probit Global. There are 23 business associates wishing Esmond good luck etc in his new role etc including Gst's Shayne Tan. I'm not a registered user of Linkedin but I see that Shayne's comment has resulted in a "reaction". I don't know what the reaction is or who it is from but I wonder if it is a reaction from Esmond to Shayne's post of "ATB Esmond! The best is yet to come."

Is it significant that none of the remaining 22 comments from other business associates have produced a reaction?

Is there anyone registered on Linkedin who is able to see what the reaction is?

It probably is insignificant but you never know.

I agree. The UK has too much red tape and puts up too many obstacles for things to happen at a reasonable pace.

An interesting development . I don’t think this has been discussed yet on this bulletin board but could be significant.

A couple of days ago Rachel Reeves announced a draft set of rules aimed at bringing crypto exchanges and dealers under official oversight for the first time . In effect the new rules extend existing financial regulations to cover crypto exchanges, stablecoins, and custodial services. FCA approval will now be required for many operations.

One interesting part of the announcement from two days ago is that only UK-based stablecoin providers would need full approval . If you are operating from overseas you will not need full approval. This is a clear break from the European Union’s approach which requires all stablecoin issuers to meet strict standards regardless of where they are based.

It has been a stated intention of GST to be the first issuer , and service provider of stablecoins listed on the London stock exchange.

I’m interested in the thoughts of fellow shareholders on this development . Gs20 exchange is based in Lithuania . Bake is registered in Singapore.

Headline news…PayPal and Coinbase announced a partnership today for advance stablecoin payments .

My thoughts are that the share price rise over the last two days may well be linked to increasing bullish sentiment towards stablecoins especially in the USA . GST have emphasised their objective , “we intend to become the first issuer, and service provider of stablecoins (a form of e-money token) listed in the London Stock Exchange.”

Article published today in the FT outlining how “some of the worlds largest banks and fintechs are rushing to grab a slice of a cross-border payments market they expect to be redrawn by cryptocurrencies”

“Last month Bank of America signalled it was open to issuing its own coin, joining established payments providers such as Standard Chartered, PayPal, Revolut and Stripe in targeting a business dominated by cryptocurrency groups Tether and Circle.”

Of course no mention of little old GST but there can be no doubting that we are a company in a growth industry.

Right time, right place.

I’d rather the GST directors stick to RNS releases to deliver news. Appearing on various low level media outlets can often attract short term speculators and share price rampers.. (Spivs)

Watching CNBC a few minutes ago. A well known US financial analyst, Tom Lee, was discussing the Bitcoin price . His view is a retrace to $70000 at the start of this year is possible based largely on charting predictions. Following that retrace he is confident Bitcoin will rise to at least $200000 this year!

I believe this kind of Bitcoin price increase, if it happens, will fuel much more interest in trading Bitcoin and is great for the wider crypto market sentiment during this year . Bodes well for GST when Bake/ Gs20 exchange is fully integrated.
