Moggy if you go deeper and the pressures are greater the mud needs to be heavier. You can’t go deeper unless you have a larger rig.

Hex had greater pressures and they needed to go deeper

Moggy the deeper you go the bigger the rig required.

The previous rig maxed out in gas they needed a bigger rig to go deeper

The greater the gas pressures the heavier the mud needs to be to counterbalance the cavity made by the drill bit as the gas tries to escape ,so the mud acts to stabilise the back pressure of the gases which are trying to escape to lower pressure which is to surface.

And the with the new larger rig they increased the mud weight to 27lb from what I understood.

And Rudyard starts this month which had a greater COS than Ingomar.

It means just as Bo said. The gas pressures were so great they were overcoming the weight of the drilling muds. Lots of Helium and Natural Hydrogen in over pressured Zones.

Should be well over a quid by the end of testing imo plus we have Rudyard starting during this Clink flow testing phase which had a higher COS with proven Helium already to surface at Rudyard.
