Rebs, If it starts firmly trending up again, then I reckon we could see a pretty aggressive rise to somewhere between 45-50p before there is any significant pull-back/consolidation. :-)

(That's purely my opinion based on my - admittedly non-expert - technical analysis. DDYODD, etc, etc.)

Well, you are making the assumption that "all the news is out". If this is indeed the case, then yes, maybe we could expect the directors to wait for a pull-back in the SP before buying. That seems reasonable.

But there is another possibility: what if they know about additional privileged information which has NOT YET been publicly released? In that case they would in fact still be legally barred from buying at this time, wouldn't they?

So...ya know...we don't know what we don't know.

Seeing that I clearly stated on another thread that my timeframe is 1 year, it's a bit obtuse to call me a day-trader - whether hopeless or otherwise.

Yes well, I'm sure it's a nice thought that the likes of Global Frontier Partners would read this forum and follow the advice of anonymous posters like me and you rather than their own hot-shot analysts. But somehow I kind of doubt that they do ;-)

I think people should be very cool about shorts. If/when this starts to see sustained a rise, the shorts getting squeezed out and forced to cover should propel the SP up much faster than normal :-)

(And I'll say again, very respectfully, I do find it rather naive to suppose any short could influence the market by posting negativity about a company at a forum like this. Serious heavy hitting players are what count - and they are hardly going to base investment decisions on internet chit chat, ya know.)

There are always going to be trolls in internet land. I wouldn't worry too much about them. In many cases it is people emotionally blowing off steam and/or trying to convince themselves that a decision they have made (whether long or short) was the right one. In some cases maybe people might even be daft enough to think they can influence the market by posting guff at a forum like this? (A hedgehog would have a better chance of stopping a freight train by sitting on the tracks, probably!)

It's nearly always the case that there is significant consolidation after a sudden big upwards move. Some folks will very reasonably want to take quick profits. The critical point, in my view, is whether the price then falls right back down quickly, or whether it stabilises at a point less than 50% down from the peak. If it stabilises then (assuming no negative change to fundamentals) one could certainly expect more upside.

All just my humble opinion - DYODD, etc, etc...

For what it's worth, I've got a modest long position on this one (based on my paid-for investment advice.)

The markets will reveal all over coming days & weeks, and we shall see what we shall see.

Yes, shareholders have been screwed big time. I think the root of this ugly situation is that Abramovich's fund (with suspected Kremlin links) owned a large position. I think that is why a lot of big banks, institutional investors, et al have been afraid to touch VLS with a 10 foot pole for the last couple of years. The little guy (retail investors) have been collateral damage in a stinking political s***show.

Commiserations Rinsed. I guess we have all lost something here. I would hope that folks have operated within usual risk-management parameters (i.e. no more than 5% in any one investment - certainly not unless one has genuinely deep and intimate knowledge of the firm in question.) Understandably, nobody has any good word to say about the leadership of VLS right now. I would say there may have been some things genuinely out of their control? In particular I think the funding struggles may have arisen from the fact that Abramovich (with alleged Kremlin links) owns a chunk of the company? Might that also explain the extraordinary lack of support from the UK government? I dunno... But yeah, it's a sh+t-show.

When all is said and done, Henrik looks like a nutty scientist from a 1960s comic book. We should have held it against him.

As others have said, MM, the future seems to depend a lot on whether there is a concrete reason (not yet publicly announced) for all of this buying?

This feels insane. A week ago I was 70% down. I doubled my position yesterday...and now I'm starting to break into profit.

(The only serious question is, how long to let it ride before cutting and running??)
