I've said this before but I think that the old board members will not be going anywhere until the new asset is dropped into AAOG. Once this is done we will have an RNS thanking them for their services and appointing two new directors with experience appropriate to the asset type.

To put it simply, I think we expect the asset news first and then the replacement of the directors. It doesn't make sense to do it any other way around.

I am less concerned about the direction that just getting going.

There are two phases to this investment IMO - the first (for which we are on the starting line now) is the initial lift that will happen once the new project (whatever it may be) is vended into AAOG. This should see a significant increase from the current share price as the company becomes a proper business once again. This is effectively the "gamble" that those investing now are taking on the turnaround of AAOG from a failed oil business to a cash shell to a completely different business focusing on a different area.

The second stage is when we know what the asset actually is and then can look at it's potential prospects with an educated eye. At this point we will be able to put a value on the company if it is successful in carrying out its aims and see what the ROI could actually be. This is also the stage when I would expect that the company would go on a marketing campaign and that a wide range of other investors would start to be interested.

So for me, as I have said, it is a bit of a two-fold process. The first stage is the "can't lose" gamble on the bounce that should come from AAOG going back into business and the second is seeing if it is a business I believe in long-term once I know what it is.

Well Hoppo, in the past DAC has made some conveniently timed purchases just before news so I would say that it is far from impossible that we could get some news imminently.

Hepseal pointed out on Wednesday that the Zenith website says: "Zenith Energy is an international oil and gas production company pursuing potentially transformational development opportunities in Africa, specifically in the Republic of the Congo and Tunisia. "

The Congo deal has already been completed so it looks like the Tunisia acquisition could be next in the pipeline. It is starting to feel like news could be imminent on this.

Kevin - II am pretty confident that you will see your break-even point in the relatively near future (next quarter or so). This is because Forum's buy-in price was 0.5p and they (and more importantly their investors) are going to want to make money on this.

Going up three times from here once they vend their new project in is not an unreasonable expectation and that would see you in a small amount of profit.

Just remember that this is a completely different company to the AAOG that you originally invested in.

barentpeter - I don't think that this will be a takeover by a private company. It is far more likely (99.99% IMO) to see an asset vended into the company at the behest of Tidswell-Pretorius.

That is what I am have invested for anyway as Tidswell-Pretorius has been very successful at doing this in the past - and making early investors an awful lot of money along the way.

If someone (Gary Megson) could send me the link to the primary bid reference stuff it would be very interesting to see how his holding as a percentage of the company has moved up and down in the light of the various placings.

I was looking in a bit more detail at the DAC holdings this morning as I was a bit rushed last night. When I went into each individual purchase it, very usefully, showed his current holding at the time.

In short, DAC had 33 million shares before the first purchase I have access to on 17th December 2019. By the time he had finished on the 18th February 2018 he then held 50 million shares. Since there are no further updates regarding his holding on Canadian Insider then it seems fair to assume that he still holds the full 50 million which is 7.06% of the company.

To be honest, it does not really matter whether we know who he is or not. What is important is that he was buying significant quantities of shares in December/Jan/Feb and he is still holding onto them. His recent average is also double the current share price.

Assuming that he had good reason (information) that prompted him to make these purchases then he at least sees a bright future for Zenith -which (conveniently enough) also matches my assessment.

Ok, just had a look on Canadian Insider for Dean Anthony Clark filings - on https://www.canadianinsider.com/company-insider-filings?ticker=ZEE.

Their free records only go back six months but since December 2019 DAC has made 11 declared purchases of Zenith shares.9 of these purchases have been on AIM for a total of 11,700,000 shares for which he paid £183,400. One purchase has been on the TSX for 300,000 for CAD$10,500 and the final purchase was “under a prospectus exemption” where he acquired 5 million shares for CAD$150,000. In total he acquired 17 million shares and paid £278,661 so an average price of 1.64pence.

Can you share the linkedin details you found on Clark? I presume it is a Canadian hedge fund since the filings were over there?

Also, it would be interesting to see if we can find out when his buys have been made as 28 million is nearly 4% of the company. I for one would like to know if he is still accumulating.

0.1p is clearly the magic number if you want to be in the game with the same risk-profile as Tidswell-Pretorius, but like I said the other day even 0.2p will be a multibagger over the next 12 months if Tidswell-Pretorius can do the same thing with assets here as he did with Horse Hill for UKOG and Angus.

Judging from that statement it would appear that the Tunisia deal is quite close to completion (or has already been completed). I wonder if we can expect an RNS soon?

Dutch - I agree that AAOG could rocket. In fact, I would say that it is far more likely than not that it will. All it needs is a half decent asset put into it and any investor who has got in at the same price as Forum is highly likely to make a significant profit.

That said, I have qualified repeatedly this is a gamble based on the fact that Forum have spent £500,000 on acquiring a shell at an average price of 0.5p. We can assume that they have a plan to get the share price to may multiples of 0.5p in order to make a profit on their investment. The success of an investment in this stock (given that we know nothing of the assets that will be reversed in) is predicated solely on the assumption that Forum have a sensible plan and are intelligent enough to carry it out. That said they were smart enough to have £500k available to take control of AAOG so it is a safe bet that they are smart enough to have a sensible plan.

My take on this is very simple. If you can get in at a price of lower than 0.5p then you are guaranteed to make money as Forum will ensure that they do and you will have a better buy-in price than Forum. However, I think that anything up to 1p will still multibag once assets are put in.

Out of curiosity, why are you posting Covid statistics and Dutch tourism information on this site? In fact, most of your posts on this share discussion forum seem to be about both Covid 19 and how wonderful the Dutch are - neither of which I could care less about.

I agree with you on the spread - it is very frustrating but I have just put it down to a cost of doing business and have been acquiring regardless. I have not burnt all my powder yet and will definitely pick up more if the price drops, but at the same time I do not want to miss out if it spikes. To be honest, I think that anything below 0.2 will be a multibagger over the next 12 months - though I have also been buying at the best prices I can.

IMO the government will relax the quarantine in the first two weeks of July. I think that the only reason it exists at the moment is to stop UK citizens taking their government funded furlough money and going abroad to spend it. UKPLC wants summer holidays to be at home this year so that UK government money goes to support UK bars / hotels / restaurants and not Spanish / French / Greek ones.

Rastuss - I would respectfully disagree with you.

Tidswell-Pretorius is the man who discovered the Horse Hill asset and set up HHDL which UKOG first bought 7.5% of for £450,000 in December 2013 when their share price was 0.9p (market cap £7 million). Less than four years later UKOG had purchased a total of 49.9% of HHDL for an additional £4.8 million and they had a share price of 8.9p (market cap £317 million). This does not happen as you put it “by plain luck”. Tidswell-Pretorius clearly knows what he is doing.

Tidswell-Pretorius was also part of the team who took Angus from an IPO listing of 6p (market cap £15 million) to a high of 36p (market cap £85 million) in just under a year. Once again this was not an accident.

So, if you had invested in UKOG when they first bought into Tidswell-Pretorius’s Horse Hill project when their share price was 0.9p then you could have made up to ten times your money if you had sold out any time in the next four years. Likewise, with Angus, if you had bought for 6p in the IPO you could have got out for up to 6 times your money in just under a year. All of this was due to Tidswell-Pretoius and the projects that he provided to both companies.

I am not denying for a second that things went south dramatically for both UKOG and Angus after September 2017. I am also not excusing Tidswell-Pretorius for any role he played in this – though at that time you have to remember that Angus was being 100% controlled by Paul Vonk. But I am saying that Tidswell-Pretorius made a massive contribution to tow separate companies peaking at a combined market cap of over £400 million.

The point is, he knows what he is doing and investing into projects that he is involved with at an early stage is a proven way to make money. Of course you can’t hold on forever – this is AIM and what goes up almost always comes back down again but if you make over 5 times your initial investment and do not take out some profit then, quite frankly you got massively greedy and any loss is your own fault.

I have no idea what Tidswell-Pretorius is like as a person and I could not care less that his “chums” (as you put in in a slightly class-war kind of way) happen to be members of the British aristocracy. All I care about is the likelihood of him making me money via Challenger.

With the Challenger share price at this level and Tidswell-Pretorius’ track record of massive early stage success in raising the market cap and share price of companies that are involved in his projects then I think that over the next year this could be a five to ten bagger based on his involvement alone. This is why I have invested. If you think that everything that Tidswell-Pretorius does is lousy then nobody is forcing you to invest here – you can stick with Angus. However, I know where I would rather be…
