RE: Sells and buys14 Mar 2023 10:34
cjmorley, you explained:-
Please stop this conspiracy nonsense.
The buy/sell info is supplied by a third party company to web sites like this (LSE) they get their info from the London exchange. And based on the trade price and the mid point of the spread they give a best guess as to a buy or sell.
Now stop and think.........
The data they see is after the event. SEDOL wil auto adjust the spread on each transaction. So if the traded price is close to the mid-point at the moment of transaction it is actually likely to be miss interpreted as the new midpoint is changed before the third party get the data. albeit only seconds later.
So we have all that complication and guestimating to decide if it's a "buy" or "sell", when some IT person couldn't come up with a system that says when you press "buy" it registers it as "buy", or you press "sell" and registers it as a "sell"???
