I think Aldi is great! It serves as a niche gap in the market. I use to frequent aldi as a student for its stupidly cheap junk we could buy for the home along with knock off booze as well as cheap bargains on food. I'd hop into a cute little red nissan micra with 4 friends and just about manage to get the car up a steep hill. Once getting into the store I'd look for whatever was going for cheap and I would eat that for the week, never would I go with a shopping list, let alone planning a dinner party as it lacks fine selection, e.g. fresh lemon grass! And ramping? I'm blushing that you think I can ramp a multi-billion stock with my dribble on a friday afternoon !!!

It is not snobbish at all GumT. That's just how it is. Try doing a full shop in Aldi / Lidl and you will realise it is missing a lot of things. I would disagree about low variety, they have like five different types of chicken nuggets lol. I popped into my local Aldi just the other day as I was walking past, figured I may as well see if I can pick up any cheap meat / fish, but hardly anything was on discount. About 30% of the store was not even food, it was poundshop junk for the home. Short interest on Tesco is low which bodes well too, at least I think so.
