Come on Jiddy, you of all people should know what it takes to pull everything together which is required to drill a well. 20 plus services / contractors plus liaising with the government / highways agency on timings to close roads etc. If we spud on the 29th that's still February :-) its been 11 months since last ops so a week or so is nothing in the grand scheme of things.. sit tight and enjoy the ride bud, the wait is almost over......

The method of drilling is pretty much the same, just could be variations of extra logging runs and of course times/depths.

We should have the Time v Depth montage released prior to drill commencing, that will have all the info in it. Hopefully some PR from big Dave too, but guessing he's laying low for a bit after the raise.

The well has penetrated the primary objective, a Nanushuk reservoir interval (separate from the Pikka Development Nanushuk reservoir), as predicted. Based on preliminary evaluation of wireline logs with pressure and fluid sample data, the well intersected 60 metres (197 feet) of net hydrocarbon pay, comprised of five metres (17 feet) of net gas pay and 55 metres (180 feet) of net oil pay. No oil-water contact was encountered within the Nanushuk interval.
The forward plan is to drill deeper to evaluate a secondary reservoir (this is the Torok) so eyes on them over next couple weeks or so.

explains why they haven't progressed smith bay. was a bold claim back in 2016 to say 6 billion barrels there.

12:27 good article that Brom. I've been looking at nanushuk / torok over the last few months and they have very similar similarities. However most operators seem to be focusing on the nanushuk at the moment as that is proven. I think OSH have just cottoned on to the torok as they are now going to penetrate it in their latest well. could the torok be as good as the nanushuk if not better? who knows time will tell. The Caleus well in smith bay certainly makes the torok look better than the nanushuk but i cannot find anything for flow test, so it does leave me wondering why they never flow tested it....
i have a figure in my head for expected bopd for our 700ft torok section and it isn't three digits. and no that's not a ramp...

i see oil search spudded Mitquq 1 on 24th Dec. Need to keep a close eye on that as they have the torok as a secondary target.

IMHO and how things have been lately it all points towards something happening in the background. In the O&G sector when it goes quiet that’s when the deals are getting done. If they wasn’t distracted by WN they’d be all over Cali prod figures and latest find.

Spirit will 100% become operator. They will drill in GWA every summer months for 4 years starting 2021.
HUR will be drilling back at GLA in February for 8 months +/- using PBLJ

well they should as its generating revenue and now self funding for future drills. Might not be as big as WN or Parta but its certainly at the stage where the BOD wanted it to be. WN and Parta will get there, it just takes time......

IT: All the kit on site has be demobilised , so makes no sense why they would do that if was a temporary exercise.

You cant carry out a well test for oil when it was planned and set up for gas. Diiferent equipment required, hence why the kit on site was all demobbed. You cant lift oil with gas lift equipment, it'll need an ESP.

PDMS: maybe the data that they have received back has indicated that its not the optimum location, porosity & permeability could be lower than expected. To appraise a field sometimes multiple wells are required to find that optimum location. You only have to look at HUR, Lancaster produced 10,000 bopd and was choked back, Lincoln was 9,800 (well was west of Lancaster) but Warwick west was only 1,300 bopd (well was west of Lincoln). I think WNB site is approx. 4 miles away from WNA site, a lot can change to the structure over that distance. I would rather they found the optimum location first rather than try to do a well test which produces next to nothing. all imho of course...

Testing all three wells at once would save on costs.
WNB site not even constructed yet. Both wells will take about 140 days. Testing Jan 21. Depending on outcome of data analysis they may not even test WNA2.
