RE: BUY & BE PATIENT4 Mar 2020 17:15
It's currently very cheap, could be even cheaper tomorrow and cheaper the week after. If reassuring news comes out, its likely to jump immediately.
We know their portfolio is concentrated and we know the Petersen case will be slow to conclude. When the stock was expensive no one cared, until one small short position, along with a biased bear case, caused the share price to collapse.
Analysts' mood has changed, as they cut their targets and emphasise these risks to cover their tracks. They had to say something after such enthusiasm for Burford, which was the darling of AIM and all the hype around litigation finance.
Perception has changed, but how much has the business actually changed? You could wait for more certainty, but if you think the risks are priced in and the future is still bright, which is probably why you are here, why not BUY BUR at these levels?
They are working on a US listing, which would definitely help restore confidence. Any positive newsflow would be great, if you are an existing investor. If however you do not own any shares or have a small exposure, than you can really take advantage of these prices.
