Hi All, just seen another re-hash of Motley Fool's "GGP rebound 2023?" article. General "could be, but don't touch" article as usual. May have affected some sellers. Not me, and I'm sure not long-standing holders. Still feel it's end 2023 and early 2024 before things really happen to the positive with Day and the board keeping GGP in good hands now and in the future. IMHO of course. All the best, MIG
Thanks once again Zoros for your wise and calm words. Like many I'm underwater, but this was always going to be at least a 4 year-journey for me. Could have sold in 30's but didn't (part greed, part because I really rate GGP) and when I read what SD did at Northern Star it was always going to be a volatile and bumpy/exciting journey. Really appreciate the team SD has arranged, especially the BOD and recent additions. The markets are doing badly for many obvious reasons, even the good stocks being sold in panic to keep cash, seen this many times over the years. So I'm really looking forward to the next 2 years, will grit my teeth and smile! Keep strong all, and thanks again Zoros. MIG
My hopeful (Bid) price forecasts;
14.5p end July
18p end August
25p end December
Obviously like all GGPers I'd appreciate better, but feel we would need a nice hit somewhere else or Newcrest to upgrade Hav to a decent level.
All the very best all, and thanks again for all the news and detail from the extremely knowledgeable people that give so freely on the forum. MIG
Sincere condolences Mattyboy and well done on being your Dad's carer. Having performed an executor's role 2 years ago for a very long-time friend, please get a good solicitor to help. This assumes you are one of the executors for his will, if he had one. The friend's family's solicitor was old school but very good even though it took over a year to resolve. Always tough when everyone grieving. So all the best to you, there will be friends/family that will help, IHT will be resolved, but as you say will need to be carefully monitored, but please use the solicitor to help and work out if there is any IHT to pay after all allowances. If your Dad's house goes to e.g. children, I think the allowance is £325K plus £175K = £500K (under £2m estate). There are other extra allowances depending on circumstances so please talk to your solicitor asap to help as they will be aware of the timescales to help and advise you. Hope all goes well for you at this sad time. All the very best MIG
Dear CJM, I had to have an AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) screening as for all over 65 in Sussex. The NHS care was fabulous. The screen gave the result straight away and was under the 3cm, so all fine for me. The supporting pamphlet and the staff went through it all in a way I could understand, very caring. The basic ranges were as follows; 3cm to 4.4cm (Small size) - scans every 12 months to see if getting bigger. 4.5cm to 5.4cm (Medium size) scans every 3 months to check on size. 5.5cm or bigger (Large size) only about 1 in 1,000 have this size - referred to a specialist team usually within a few weeks to discuss possible treatment, usually an operation for about 41 in 10,000 cases. They told me if this was my result the treatment was very successful, which took away a lot of the fear, for me. I totally understand how you feel about this. However, I always felt cared for and kept informed. So please try not to worry too much until you know, and have a happy and healthy New Year. With kind regards and wishes for a fabulous life ahead for you, MIG
To the following, please accept my sincere thanks; Zoros, SpadesAspade, Dip666 and Tiggerman. Have suffered like many recently, but have always thought there is at least another 2/3 years to go/hold. The recent posts from you guys were, basically, fantastic with their information and timing. Stars. Have a fabulous Christmas and New Year. Looking forward to the time ahead. ALB MIG
My estimate would be 23.30p
TomE and Speedy, many thanks and much appreciated. Always value personal experience and the Britannia's sound a great place to start for their collections to come. All the very best for the future. Kind regards, MIG
Hello Speedy, advice please - I know you've been kind enough to supply details of where to buy physical gold (& silver?) that is trustworthy and would sell and buy at reasonable prices/commission. Had notes but lost them in moving. This would be very small purchases and will include presents for my grandchildren. Many thanks in advance and for your many excellent general posts. Kind regards, MIG
Hi all, just bought another 3,000 (please don't laugh, it's the money I had left to invest!) on Hargreaves Landsdown's site and they have nearly 50m shares traded today. The market in general is down, recently the gold price has also gone down too, and the FT mentioned many of the fund managers have had a good year and don't want to make any "silly bets" to affect their fund's position. This would therefore seem to explain why Greatland has been affected like so many. They are by far my largest holding, and well down currently, but this was always going to be my considered investment for the next 2 to 3 years and I haven't changed my mind on this. So please be strong and continue to be patient. Everything is still in place for a bright future IMHO. GLA, MIG
Barchid and Scharnhorst, many thanks for the information and the laugh. Both much appreciated! Good luck to us all here but especially you guys. Kind regards, MIG
Bravo TMT, Strummer and probably many more on this board. Chess has been a passion of mine for over 50 years. Got to an equivalent of about 2100, once, also around the same time (1982) but a car crash finished my long range thinking. Been around 2000, seemingly no matter how well or badly I played for most of the later years but age may be creeping up. I've always enjoyed it too. Been investing too for longer than that, not loads as couldn't afford to lose. Totally understand when people, like on here, have important reasons to sell, especially for family. My investments are bigger now (not compared to many on here) but I've had and will continue to enjoy the ride with GGP hopefully for years to come. Have only bought, was tempted to sell some in the 30's but have always had the belief this is the best share I've ever come across, so didn't and do not regret it at all. Still think my journey here will be at least for 2/3 more years and will be great for my family. So to GGPers and Chess players all, good luck and may they both make you smile! A lot! MIG
Hi guys, my wife and I both bought a few shares today, 3,000 and 3,500 but they came up as "Unknown" and "Sell". While I know there has to be a buy and sell transaction (apart from with the MM) each way, does this happen often? We have been with the company for a few years, really like the company and what it does, and hope this is the year progress continues positively. Apologies if this has come up before. Thanks and regards, MIG
Hi all. Just bought 15,000 at 20.07p (delighted, yes, smaller investor, but lot for me) but it shows up as a Sell. I know there has to be a seller and buyer but very confused why they do this. Still on my 2-3 year journey but convinced GGP will be a great success for me. SD has options of 5m @ 25p, probably in the next 18-24 months, so am especially pleased with his former success. Have no targets this year apart from possibly 30p by year end. GLA MIG
TW had said they were going to pay dividend but stopped it to cover their cash position. Think it was before the ex-divi date. Subsequently they bought land at good prices. We'll need to wait to see if this was wise; IMHO I think it will be if the Govt pushes for more housing which they need. Last dividend paid was 08Nov19. Regards, MIG
Hi all, yes, proposed dividend pay date is 14May21 and is the final dividend according to HL's TW share dividend tables, paid at 4.14p per share. Regards, MIG
Thanks to TallChap's link I saw SD's message with his screen saver message "Stunning Greatland Gold Find". His quick chat confirmed the stunning current results (IMHO) and he mentioned a very positive future, especially with the NCM drilling with a view to a major update probably in June. Sounds very exciting for 3-4 months time and then possibly 2 years after that. Again backs up what the usual excellent posters on this board have been saying in the past 6 months. GLA MIG
Hi TallChap, think it says "Stunning Greatland Gold Find" which matches SD's chat on you tube attached. Thanks for the find. MIG
Could be a variety of things - Help To Buy extended to end March, Jefferies upgrading TW to "Buy" from "Hold" with a target price of 195p and small (?) dividend to be paid this year. ATB MIG
Thanks Bamps21. Been reading a lot of articles in the FT Weekend, especially FT Money and the magazine over recent months. There have been several articles recently (e.g. Merryn Somerset Webb re: Gold and Copper) and an article 6/7 Feb entitled "Power Games" where China comes up a lot with items like the Tenke Fungurume copper and cobalt mine in the DR of Congo bought by a Chinese Company, China Molybdenum in 2016. They are used as you obviously know in cars, wind turbines, batteries, electric cables; very much the clean energy transition around the world. For an example, it states the US has limited domestic supplies of cobalt and lithium, also rare earth minerals. China has a large ownership of the rem's. GGP supplies of Gold are obvious assets, but I totally agree that copper and cobalt, especially in the next 2/3 years may be extra gems in GGP's future. Very grateful for your excellent analysis. Kind regards, MIG
