As the sp drifts down because of lack of really positive newsflow many will of course sell up hoping for a lower re-entry price. This leads to further sp falls. That's just the way it is. Doesn't mean that there isn't a prospect here. I also think those who use the term 'high risk' just mean 'difficult'. It kind of amounts to the same thing if we run out of money trying to squeeze the stuff out.

HUR is indeed an educated punt and I like O&G co.s
Can't help trying to compare with Enquest whose production is 3 x what's being estimated with HUR and whose sp is 20% lower. OK enquest has got lots of debt... Just a thought.

My concern with a bucket list such as HUR is a repeat of 'promises' like this:

I appreciate that things are different HUR and 10 years on, but being risk averse is now where I'm coming from.

Given that the sp is declining and people are selling more than buying; also that we haven't yet proven any production capacity - perhaps you can tell me what I'm currently wrong about? It's this sort of insight that I'm looking for on a bb.

Looking like we'll undershoot my 46p top-up target. Hope to sneak in before any/next positive update despite being wary of these overvalued small oil co.s.
Bit of a puzzle opening up and staying up at the moment since there are more sells than buys. However, must assume that the MMs know what they're doing i.e. that hope will provide support.

I wasn't referring to ECHO fundraising, rather to that which occurred on the likes of NTOG that over time decimates the sp.
Of course MMs can manipulate but the lack of boom is straightforward and explained by the uncertainty that remains over the exploration.
The purpose of boards is to gain insights and opinions which is why I subscribe but many are just looking for endorsement of their views.

I've more faith in ECHO than the likes of NTOG. Remember it being ramped by the likes of BrokerManDan along with other scandals like MATRA.
I also have faith in Malcy's attempts to give an assessment of these small oilies and believe he is honest in doing what he does.

NTOG has really been a long term disaster for those not lucky enough to have traded in and out at the right time or gormless enough to fall for all the promises. The endless fund raising has just kept the BODs salaries afloat.
ECHO BOD seems more honorable but the play is difficult.
Earlier I'd said we could drift to 8p without a really positive result but feel 11p might be a good re-entry point.
Of course I get damned for that, just I like was for predicting 46p on HUR which has just occurred in the past 24 hrs.

You're right. I wanted 46p on the nail almost as a kind of game for myself since I'd predicted we'd get to 46. Missing things by a fraction of a penny seems to be a particular talent. My only talent. Happy for it to rise from here since I'm already invested. Can rely on the market to be perverse.

It's the City institutions that move the market based on company prospects and global factors. The business proposition of LLoy is sound but it's a kind of proxy for Brexit and wider concerns.
If people drip feed into their ISA in years to come they will benefit and past sp fluctuations won't have made much difference.
I'm just watching for what I think is the current floor which I think we're nearly at. A P/E of 13 is below the FTSE average so LLoy is probably undervalued at it is. It won't go broke either.

Looks like a modest recent uptrend is being sustained so minded to get back on board. This used to be something of a gusher.
Chief concern is that ENQ is still running at a loss, however.
At least the spread is tight...
