RE: Blackrock2 Nov 2021 12:18
@GJ2020 - I would think it could take BlackRock less than 2 weeks to clear their stocks, either privately or on the public markets.
Trading volumes are on average around 10m units per day at the moment. They want to clear 55m shares.
Remember they have been selling already. One month ago, they had 135m shares and they have already sold down to about 83.5m shares. They're looking to sell 55m shares further, leaving them with a normal level of 5% (28.5m shares) in THG, normal practice for an initial whale investor.
This is very normal practice for any investor which gets a business off the ground, making money selling their shares after the company lists on the stock exchange, and contractually not being allowed to sell their shares until the end of their lock in period, which ended 16th September.
They also say they are willing to sell at 195p for a major sale deal, a 10% discount, rather than going through the public markets. So they may choose to just sell via the normal markets without discounting the price.
So the price could be quite volatile for the next couple of weeks, and then hopefully settle on a nice upward curve after all this FUD is gone with.
I have 27.4% of my portfolio invested in THG at an average price of 219.98p. There's a lot of us in this together.
