Interesting to see that Tom Hart appears to be back as General Manager at Appledore - he was replaceced by a JW favourite 'commercial guy' a few months ago. Tom was a great operational General Manager who knows shipbuilding and project management - would be great to see him back in post!

I still think that this is part of a longer term strategy to be in with a chance of the CalMac replacement work - whoever gets that needs ferry experience. I also think he may be spotted flying over the Isle of Wight like the caped crusader as they need new craft too.

There's a game of musical chairs and shuffle board going on at HQ as they position themselves for the next stage of the cunning plan. The chat over the weekend about a new GM at Appledore was correct -- Tom Hart has a new role as they prepare for FSS. One day JW may tell us what's going on - or not! 🐖 🐷 🐽

Tom is very much alive and kicking in lead post at Appledore. I believe there are new job titles..........

My reading of it is that it's not over yet......but that whilst the gov is aware of the nature of the problem, and is sympathetic, it would be hard to justify giving levelling up funding if the steamship company signs the contracts with Piriou. The government is however still looking at it with the local authority. I don't think JW will have been appreciative!

So my take on this is that we are going to pile on the pressure by introducing competition to the route and then make a lower offer when they are in the inevitable financial difficulties.

I take from this that Harl are being advised by Cavendish Securities who are expert in gaining funding for rapidly developing UK companies......😎
