Since we now know the joint venture is defunct, presumeable the non disclosure agreement is now finished , is it possible to find out officially who the JV discussions were with, or indeed if they ever took place.
Or in my long absence have I missed something
As i see it the critical thing is getting production output up, we appear to have everything in place to acheive that.
Does anyone know or can give a best guess at what level we need production to be in BOPD to finance the debt, if we can do that and start to make profit why bother with a joint venture.
Firstly let me explain that I don't post very often and regard myself as a long term investor neither deriding or ramping the share, but must admit the investment has been a total disaster for me and I guess a lot of other people.
I fail to see/understand all the hype around a joint venture, I am convinced COPL is a lifestyle activity for Arthur and I admire him for it. why would we want to buy a 15 % holding for CUDA at what I believe was over priced only to sell off to a much larger operation (Exxon??) who would not want a minority holding.
The first time that a joint venture was ever mentioned was when COPL could not get hold of steel piping and it felt that a JV with a big boy could be the solution to that problem. through various means cash has been forthcoming and piping acquired and progress is being made.
On this board we have read umpteen reasons why the share price has fallen from a poor website, which was upgraded , (the share price fell), lack of RNS,(with every RNS the price has fallen) Lack of video presentations (again the price falls)
I believe the only way the share price will improve is with the publication of positive increasing production levels in BOPD and COPL should focus solely on achieving that, its not going to happen overnight.
all that said I don't think Arthur is a good communicator which an MD/CEO needs to be. But hey nobody is perfect. He created the company and has kept it afloat lets see how the year progresses
With all the talk about Joint Ventures and buyouts would anyone be interested in joining/contributing to a survey declaring what price they would consider selling the shares under a buyout scenario.
Remember I did a similar exercise for the COPL relisting a couple of years back.
I would publish the average value/price when sufficient entries are made.
It could give the BOD an idea of the PI feeling and hopes and aspirations.
From my position, I am in it for the long term and want to hold on and see the company at maximum output BOPD which will take several years. So £10 min is what I hope for.
I rarely Input anything on this board, but do read most of the messages, I haven't green boxed anyone because someone once told me "listen to everyone, because even the biggest fools can teach you something"
I wish people would stop making these wide ****d predictions of share price with no basis for the figures.
Remember I collated everyone's prediction for the relaunch of COPL around two years back when the price was around 38P, Your average SP projection then was around £13.
Its now less that half the relaunch Price, even with CUDA on board and potentially a massive oil find waiting to be exploited along with a 50% increase in the then WTI oil price.
Talk of selling out for £2 a share or even £5 a share sounds like desperation
Every industry/Company has a key measure and for oil companies I believe its BOPD, to make this SP improve and we need to see published a regular upward movement in that key measure against a projected target on a realistic time scale.
I am an engineer, I know things can go wrong, but you cannot control what you do not measure. Publish a regular (hopefully) upward trend in BOPD and the share price will take care of its self, the potential cannot be ignored for ever.
Tiburn,
Don't worry about being filtered. You are the fountain of all information factual and Technical, don't bother with price predictions and petty squabbles.
just keep feeding us less knowledgeable with useful info to do our own research.
what constitutes a LTH, i regard anything pre atomic as long term.
Well I've topped up again today and averaged down, 1p on the share price now =£3048.
So I hope you guys that reckon it will go up to £10 are right.
Buy the dips and have faith, remember Art bought £250k worth at 35p, he must be ****ed off too , but has a plan to get the oil out
Has anyone heard or read anything about COPL's interests in Nigeria lately?
There was a bit of hype about 12 months ago about the Nigerian gov. wanting to exploit the opportunities there, which are huge.
Has COPL abandoned the project?
BCARM
I am an investor in COPL and read your comment re VELA so thanks for the tip.
I know nothing about VELA, but am interested, what the craic that makes you think its going north over the rest of the year. I will do some research , but anything you have would be appreciated.
Just done another top up. I just hope its not an April Fools Day tomorrow. LOL
I still cant figure out any logic to the share price, whether compared to others or just on fundamentals, but hopefully it will all pan out over time.
I have only been in this share a couple of years so haven’t had the pleasure of his input.
I am on holiday in France and have caught covid, and I don’t recommend it, I feel awful. But no doubt will survive it. Ironically I was offered a forth jab the day I tested positive, so jabs are no guarantee. Regarding copl I have been buying in the dips and now have built up a sizeable investment, but the lack of information is very frustrating
