Lithium news , another example of the potential of a JV which is my expected route to some others on here disappointment. Piedmont ( TESLA supplier of 33% supply to Tesla US ) are open to the Tenneessee Lithium Hydroxide plant JV. They already have supply deals with Sayona & Atlantic Lithiums millions of very high grade spodumene. Any hoo on to the quote :-
“Our other sources of financing will be, we are likely to run some type of partnering process for the project with a select number of parties who have access to American manufactured supply, giving them eligibility under the Inflation Reduction Act, which would be advantageous."

Just to add they specifically refer to IRA $ USA.

Australia .... ALK , TVL meetings with Ozzie Gov at Port Hedland. Australia announced/ing ASD3 Billion to green projects...again points to Australian interest for me.

Big pressure on Pilbara and Rio in the Pilbara area now with Albemarles aggresively starting up construction on 2 new world leading hydroxide plants and having the first bid for the vaste resources of Lionston , initially turned down.

The gauntlet has been thrown down in Oz. The race to supply hydroxide in Australia has started today.

Wil TVL just sit and wait ?

One thing for sure is that now Pilbara will not be able to sit and do nothing !!!!!

JV with Pilbara Minerals for example could fund most of the $600m so they'd deserve half?
I'm not greedy nor am I not understanding of the global financial troubles that can hinder start ups and new high risk high reward projects.
Yeah in a dream world the funding would just be lent at 5% by JP Morgan or CAT or RIO which ever major you want until it paid off, but I'm happy to give them their cut & supply of lithium hydroxide if we can get to a situation to start construction.

Patience again as we keep getting some major changes of interests in the much much wider 5 year route map.

For me its a bit like hydrogen funding in general. The EU REALLY need to , as per normal, kick their own ****s and fund the start ups and early stage projects and infrastructure. With governments funding private companies or high wealth funds / individual will feel more comfortable with their gambles.

Tortoise & Hare?
Chicken & Egg?

Nargh blow the doors off the BoE and let the funding flow asap.

Even if other companies benefit it may 'ENABLE' TVL & ALK to get some orders or supply from other growing companies.

Patience IS an action not an inaction.

Those who have patience will gain here and with TVL and ALK.

Buyout potential on the table too, all explained on alk as its more about them, but in this world of US v China everything is on the table.

My take is :- this ( fingers crossed ) is a gap opening via a kind CEO who now knows funding is in place ?

"IF" RIO TINTO - who were arguing the point at the government meeting for basically green energy = creating a UK lithium industry with some Gov help ie USA IRA - if Rio Tinto want in on a JV or total buyout as the are one of Pilbaras areas Major miners and have their own railway network from mine to port hedland , then move out to clear a path for JV & Funding is the case then thats top grade management.

I say even more so for the same that Pilbara Minerals have ASD$1 BILLION IN CASH. "IF" they want a JV they may well buyout TVL and put their own guy in ?

The two above options look totally viable and tbh pretty obvious with the daily M&A going on globally.

The fit is perfect for even VW to buyout TVL put their guy in on owning or JV and their route to supply the EU AND .... THE MIGHTY USA where VW are being very very aggresive. They may well be VERY AGGRESIVE here and again I would not blame them.

Stand back, look at the global picture, read the daily domination efforts of China, US, EU , Mexico , Chile, and it WILL BE Africa nations who also join in with what is actually their countries minerals & metals so just watch the land grab and how slower countries suddenly see Chile Gov making multiple millions.

Greedy has killed some of my previous investments.

Greed is the rush for lithium rights before the governments of the world want their cut.

TVL/ ALK refine the lithium at large £300m per plant expense. The profits however will be huge. GREED & the BIGGER boys are all over it.

WATCH THIS SPACE it could all be cut and dried in DAYS....YES DAYS.

Just my gut feelings not investment advice. I certainly would not be selling now TVL has a MASSIVE opening perfect for RIO OR PILBARA heads to take over the next phase and have total control.

Lithium funding news in Europe.

It is looking increasingly likely that Vulcan Energy may be able to build its proposed €322m (AU$530m) lithium hydroxide plant in Germany without putting its hand in its pocket. A freshly signed term sheet with big European chemical and energy producer Nobian GmbH will see Nobian tip €161m (AU$265m) into a 50/50 JV vehicle which Vulcan says should be enough to secure debt funding for the remainder of the capex required to build the plant.

Notably the proposed investment by Nobian into the lithium hydroxide plant JV vehicle values just one part of Vulcan’s integrated geothermal and lithium brine operation at AU$530m - and according the company’s DFS, the hydroxide plant is the smaller part, accounting for just 23 per cent of Vulcan’s NPV.

Vulcan’s current market cap is AU$823m however included in that market cap is a remarkable AU$223m pile of cash which gives the company an enterprise value of AU$600m.

JV for TVL ALK is what I have been expecting - Pilbara Minerals or Rio Tinto.

Vis as per previous reply, more like bought out rather than squeezed, just my opinion.
With quotes of between £8-12.00 last year for a single share here, why would anyone wait ?

EU over there whole compact continent to supply with 30 gigafactories + built or being built.
As an island infrastructure should come along nicely as scale up begins. Once the real scale up starts thats the recycle battery kick in at , what, 4 years per battery ? Once the first 4 years has scaled up to 25% say then thats a lot of scrap.
Altilium & Technology metals factory n Wolverhampton now live, they are talking of 60,000-80,000tpa of neat lithium metal. Once this starts to come in to the UK supply chain each year % more increase and so it rolls on.

I think Li-Cycle are the big fish circling the UK. Very much like Tesla they keep looking then backing off.
One day they will make that switch and it would surprise me if recycling did provide a good 30%+ of supply.
Technology metals guy in the video i posted today also mentioned the tonnage of lead they would also be recycling.

VIS , same for tin & copper & nickel & manganese I guess ? Those piles - mini mountains around St Austell are basically lithium mica waste from tin , tingsten snd copper mining ? Similar to Pilbara sifting through the spodumene and then processing at the lithium sulphate plant in Australia ? What turns up on our shores is easy to process lithium.

Not a lot of diff other than Ozxie grade is about x5 to x8 higher than Cornish rock mica zinnwldite at just above acceptable mining grades.

As you know I'm not a fan of the rock mica, but that brine under Cornwall....kaboom. Get DLE working and the UK will be right up there with supply to demand. Trust me on that and you know I've said this for near 2 years now. Just crack on with DLE and forget the open pit stuff. Take the **** heaps , that makes sense, but brines all the way if DLE can be proven.

Standard Lithium I thin have about cracked it, as they are now going towards full scale plant operations.

Things are happening quickly

Simple. Bulk. Pilbara already have excess that they sold on the open market in Feb. They are ramping up production too.
With CATL ending the supply coincidently in 2025 , Pilbara who currently have ASD$1 Billion in CASH.
They already supply out of Port Hedland but only raw spodumene 75% waste in a boat.
So now they are streamlining the spodumene ore to reduce traansport waste to port.
If TVL are spending £300m on a Lithium sulphate plant , why not put the part processed spodumene through the TVL funnel and where they pay to use TVL plant they save on the shipping cost as it then not 75% waste rawfeed its now 75% pure lithium waiting to be tweaked. ?

Now my thought is basic , why not build a hydroxide plant in Oz ?

They have ASD1 Billion in CASH.

Could they buy out TVL ALK and have direct control of both plants and immediate access to the EU US markets ?

The EU usage would equate to a big new contract with CATL ? WHY not do it ?

Kind of scratching my head to why they have not already put an offer in ?

With Optiver / Traxys merging thats a powerhouse unit there. Link up with Rio Tinto and Pilbara via TVL ALK and thats two Majors you are selling the lithium to market for ?

Oh they would surely get all the Cornish & British Lithium as part of the "deals" referred to by the CEO of TVL who lives looking over one of the Cornish mines.

Atlantic Lithium also looks juicy as their volumes will be SO huge they like Pilbara could need extra refining capabilities , even if they build one olant.

Tesla are finding out the raw tonnage is not there yet and refining a surge in high volumes by 2027 will still need multiple hydroxide plants.

The CEO of Piedmont has said the same twice within a week !

As I've said its all getting me very excited. I seriously can see this situation within 6 months being be very very different to how it is now. ALK us not a slow 9 month drill, then another 8 month drill thn a PFS , then more drilling blah blah blah, its just a simple chemical processing plant.

A lot of the time its all about WHO you know ;-)))

Keep an eye on news from Australia , I'm sure that will be quite soon the way each side of the world US v China and which side are you on carries on at warp speed.

Big decisions are being made right now.

So Technology Metals are starting with 8,600tpa.
Altilium are looking at 30,000tpa of Cathode grade recycled lithium just ready for the final finish to clients specs.

So would this 30,000tpa convert down to say 15,000tpa of hydroxide. Raw feed is something like 200,000tpa @6% mix to get around 30,000tpa of lithium hydroxide.

200,000tpa to get 30,000. Hell of a lot of crushing and chemical processing using a lot of energy ?

Getting feedstock of lithium metal ? Should take a fraction , no mining or crushing just chemical processing to carb or hydroxide as per client request.

Recycling looks a way better bet going forward ?

Hydrogen cars with extra range should surely be winning the race to familes homes?

If the Australian majors can see that a country with such large gaps between point A & B in gaining traction in their homeland , what would a condensed European outlook provide ? Much denser populations, less distance per drive.

Europe should surely be a big target of Australian miners of all types including REE's ?
