you are correct in that the term 'wether' is a contraction of the term 'bellwether' which is defined in the modern era as ""a leader or an indicator of trends""

The term derives from the Middle English 'belle-wether', which referred to the practice of placing a bell around the neck of a castrated ram (a wether) leading a flock of sheep.

The word was first used in the above meaning in the 15th century.

Whichever way you prefer ...whether it's Bellwether or simply Wether... let's hope AZ is not feeling under the weather...and continues to be a trendsetter and leads us all to the 'Promised Land'
