Also unlike the pros, us PIs can claim tax relief on divi's from UK COs... so for the cautious investor who is also a UK tax payer it makes a lot of sense.

In serious danger of actually making a profit.

With SDY I see good revenue and low dept...

The dip in profit this year was due to the 20M right-off of lost equipment, which probably wont happen again.

Also, they're not focused solely on the building industry... so protected somewhat from high interest rates and cooling housing market.

I'm in two minds about the PE ration... any views welcome.

The sp collapse makes no sense... reported profit is excellent... especially considering the flat revenue...

Good article to read. It echo's my thoughts that although the builders having a bad time Speedy is not only servicing the building industry... they have a much broader customer base than that.

Its actually a 5 year low not 52 weeks... and still paying good divis..

The divi plus the excellent potential for capital growth is what makes it such a good bet atm.

Mobile wireless telecoms is here to stay.

Perhaps there will be other bids... let the bidding war commence.

It's been a good run but some retrace in inevitable.

When and how far - we don't know.

... but you rarely see a 50% rise in 3 month without some retrace.

You only have to look at the charts and the fundamentals.

Two years ago we were at £2 whilst posting a loss of billions.

Now we're back in profit a £2 target seems conservative to me.

Its possible... (but given the track record unlikely)... that they are delaying the divi payment until they have first published a sensible plan, in the hope it will prevent a mass exodus.

In the absence of any plan from co. about what they will do next, for me the question of whether to hold or sell after the divi payment is a no brainer.

Lets hope we hold onto those gains.
Personally not trying to predict the spikes and dips, but planning to hold for another 6 - 12 months until the recovery is evident on the bottom line... perhaps longer.
