The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Well, I don’t envy the crew shifting the rig. Temperature forecast for Dead Horse, Alaska, as rig trundles to its new position is -37C (source : BBC). The good news is that the maximum temperature forecast for the next fortnight is an encouraging -10C. No chance of an inconvenient thaw then. I wonder how long the actual drilling phase will take ?
25,000 coal-fired power stations built in China and India combined since 1995, moniman ? Really ? Where did you get that from ? My information is that mainland China had 1,110 operational coal-fired power stations by Jan 2022 and India had 285. My source : https://www.statista.com/statistics/859266/number-of-coal-power-plants-by-country/ . Not checked population increase; you may well be correct. All things considered, though, I agree we are in a bit of a pickle.
I also am not too bothered about the FO by the 'Q1 deadline'. But then I never saw it as a 'deadline', only an estimate and not even a target. I can understand the impatience of others but I am just biding my time. I am also perhaps in the more comfortable position than some on here of only some 3% of my portfolio in 88E, though like most I have lost (paper) value. But I cheer myself up with the thought that if I lose the lot, it will be less than my losses with Carillion !

By 'eck, that is some impressive pud ! But you are reminding me now that as a nipper (say, 1950) the local tradition in Yorkshire was to use a 'silver' threepenny bit (the one before the 12-sided brass coin of the same value). Brung up in Yorkshire, folks could not afford 6d tha knows ! That was for posh folks from t' Soft Sarf !
Sorry folks : Reminiscence Mode now OFF.
Catsize :
You must have had very old sixpences in the Xmas Pud when you were young ! A little research shows that :
Prior to 1920, British silver coins contained high purity, 92.5% (Sterling) silver.
From 1920 to 1946, British silver coins contained 50% silver.
Mind you, a 6d in 1920 was probably worth more than £1 today ! And who puts £1 in a Xmas pud ?
Someone asked for the trading experiences of others affected by this mess : I sold my CLLN holding on Friday, 12 Jan, around 1230hrs (at a painful loss) through Hargreaves Lansdown. My SIPP account was credited immediately, as expected, and there has been no further communication on the matter. This is a re-post of my msg from last Tuesday 23 Jan. I can confirm that I still have had no email from HL about my successful sale of CLLN shares on the last day of trading. I sincerely hope there will not be one either. Good luck to those who have not been so treated. Shameful IMHO.

Sympathy. I am still in but decided to hold and see what happens. Hope you are not in CLLN also, like me ?
