The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
Makes sense to me, fingers crossed they do let it ride.
"The FTSE 100 index eased further off session highs as lunchtime approached, with investors now seeking fresh direction from Wall Street's restart."
Are they literally saying wait for the yanks at 2:30pm? I thought that was a no no lol

*so who knows.
I hope I'm wrong too but even if I'm right I can't see it being kept down for long, it's just dampening an expected early morning rise. I'm expecting a gradual rise throughout the day when the boot gets lifted. This is all just assumption though do who knows.
Global bond marketa have stablised, the ftse is up and yet somehow Cine is reacting like its still Friday. I smell games afoot to try and scare investors.
"A new Covid vaccine requiring just one dose could be just weeks away from being introduced in the UK.
A Government source said the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) formal process of approving the new jab was “very likely” to start this week, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The news came as the Food and Drug Administration in the USA cleared the new one-shot vaccine for use over there.
The FDA said J&J's vaccine offers strong protection against what matters most: serious illness, hospital admissions and death.
One dose was 85 per cent protective against the most severe Covid-19 illness, in a massive study that spanned three continents - protection that remained strong even in countries such as South Africa, where the variants of most concern are spreading."

If France and Germany don't want the AZ vaccine then they should just give it back for redistribution. Thanks to their petty politicing it's said that 1.17 million doses are set to expire in Germany which imo should be considered criminal.
"More than a third of the UK’s adult population have now been given their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, latest figures show.
The Government said more than 20 million people in the UK have now been given their first dose.
In total all adults - a total of 53m people in the UK - can expect their first dose by July, ministers have said. "

Yeah like I said, to me it seems likely they'll not get it through in the covid bill. It's something that will take some more negotiations with Republicans and likely an increase in minimum wage will happen but at a lower amount spread over a number of years. I think the Republicans are advocating a rise to just over $10 spread over 5 years so a compromise might be found somewhere in the middle.
I'm dubious they will get their $15 minimum wage so it's likely it will get removed by the seneate, sent back to the house before being passed by both. On Biden's desk by March 14th. This allows $1.9 trillion to flow into the US economy which Wallstreet executives have recently offered their "full throated support". I wonder why Wallstreet execs have expressed their support, most likely because they know it will have a direct short term positive impact on the whole market as it did last time.

"Johnson & Johnson’s Covid-19 vaccine was endorsed on Friday by a panel of experts advising the Food and Drug Administration, clearing the last hurdle before a formal authorization expected on Saturday, according to two people familiar with the agency’s plans. The nation’s first shipments will go out in the days after that.
It will be the third shot made available to the United States in the year since the first surge of coronavirus cases began washing over the country, and it will be the first vaccine to require just one dose instead of two.
Johnson & Johnson’s formulation worked well in clinical trials, particularly against severe disease and hospitalizations, even though it did not match the sky-high efficacy rates of the first two vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.
The panel, made up of independent infectious disease experts, statisticians and epidemiologists, voted unanimously in favor of authorizing the vaccine."

Watch this increase in the final hour as investors expect news of US stimulus passing in congress to have a positive impact Monday morning.
Anyone want to guess at tomorrows peak for a bit of fun? I wouldn't mind us seeing £1.10, today felt like FOMO or a squeeze and whichever it was one may well prompt the other.
Tomorrow morning will be interesting. I really hope this reaches unexpected heights, hold tight everyone.
There are bound to be a fair few automatic sells at £1, I reckon each time we attack it they trigger and knock us back down but that also replaces those weak hands with buyers. I think tomorrow might be the day where we blow past it in the morning but I would be happily surprised if we did today.
Lol I've seen a few of those articles too, there is definitely a softening of tone but they can't seem to get over their lost opportunities.
Thanks everyone, it's good to know i'm on a similar wave length to most of you. Sometimes it's just nice to get some others perspectives to make sure i'm not too close to a single stock.
25th of March

I would like to think Mooky would come out with an impressive forward looking statement with the results. It's in his own interest to do so.
Honest question, what impact do we think the results will have on the sp in March? I'd like to assume it will be negligible because as others have said before me it's already known that we haven't been trading so there shouldn't be any nasty surprises. Also they may likely announce reopening plans around to the same time to help balance things out.
