market looking good..... lets hope debs make most out of the day and go past 10p today... We need atleast 10% rise! Hopefully market digested all the bad news for debenhams... Steady bounce from here would be ideal.. Good luck all!

On a positive day, share price down by 8%. Therefore expect more steep fall in the coming days. No take over offer, KPMG call for future options, Ashley blocking sale of assets means debenhams are on shorters paradise till 25th october. No sign of sell off calming down, we closed today with the lowest ever share price.. I doubt debs will ever survive. Good luck!

Well.. Even if it had to do with media, Brokers have not upgraded or downgraded Debs after the news... Even if stop losses are triggered, share price still not going up after steep decline but instead still hoovering around 9.95p.. Its a very bad sign and looks like it will continue to go down..

Well.. its just the beginning... Big sell order is going through! Investors lost confidence I think... Feel sorry for debs shareholders and hard working staff!

Retails sales came good... Lets see whether it will help Debs stay above 10p!

Looks like 8% rise coming today!

10 minutes left to hit new low to single digit...... Would be very interesting to watch!

Market looks happy today.. UK market should open positive tomorrow, lets hope we do not hit new lows to below 10p tomorrow. I do not see future of Debs once we enter single digit and market cap goes below £100 million!

Thats not bad... If debenham goes bust tomorrow, the maximum you could lose will be approx £5K..

Well, single digit is now confirmed... market cap only 120 million , not looking too good... if board wait till 25th October, we probably won't be in the game as media will force them into administration! Board need to act now as low share price means definitely entering into administration... the only person will laugh will be ashley.

closer to 11p is not good. We need to go past 11.50 to avoid any danger of hitting single digit! Not a very good day for a whole sector looks like as Next, M&S are all down..

Lets hope at least we stay above 11p!

The news is bad considering timing! But very good in the long run. Media is bringing all the bad news they can to dump debs. Debs financial position is sound.. They have debts of £230m compared to their market cap of £150m which is not huge and they are still making profit. Ashley can do whatever he likes as its his money, but we only need assurance from the board that they can still turnaround without takeover or sale of assets.
On the positive note, debs are getting lot more attention from public due to media. Therefore share price has now become more volatile which means we will be soon seeing big spike up on some very good positive news.
My target to hit 20p by end of this month will soon become reality.

Don't know market is reacting so st..upidly for news. However we should finish better today close to 13p..

John lewis slump in profit will have similar impact on debs profit.. Ashley's no offer confirmation is very good for debs. I was linking yesterdays 9% rise on the news to today's drop but looks like investors liked the after market news which means we will continue to fly non stop before the result.... So 20p target is getting closer and closer!

John lewis profit down by 99% and no take over from spd confirmed. It would be interesting to see how much drop (if drops) we are going to see but atleast 9% drop due to yesterday rise for the news.. Overall not looking good today!

Thats good news for Debs! At least all becoming clear now - Ashley want to wait for debs to go bust like HOF to buy them cheap, Debs now only need to focus on cost saving, turnaround their business.. Once debs share price recovers and market cap improves, lets see how badly As*ley guy regrets and others can laugh at him...

With all the uncertainty out of the way for now , we are now well set to hit 20p within end of this month.. Enjoy the ride guys!

For me the answer is :

1. Do not cut all dividends.
2. Hang on to the danish business
3. Keep all the stores at least till Xmas and utilise the store space to maximum!
4. Compete with other online traders!
5. Close loss making stores and open new stores somewhere else where it would be more profitable.
6. Make profit and pay back shareholders!

Well done Debs by calming down the market although it was very late in the afternoon! We should move up sharply from here... Nothing should stop debs touching 20p before the result!
