RE: Is covid19 going away? I don't think so.28 Jun 2020 12:58
Agreed st.
Equally the Chinese as a society are much more compliant. The are much well versed in virus outbreaks.. take the SARs outbreak not to long back.
Was speaking to my gf, she is of Chinese descent, lots of family in Shanghai. Claimed that due to internet restrictions out there, they are unable to do real research on the virus/its implications and so rumours spread like wildfire and they are generally very fearful of ot due to previous virus outbreaks, as such are more compliant. Add into that the gov their who wont hesitate to enforce.
At the height of their lockdown, 1 member of the household was allowed to leave once per week to go food shopping.
In Europe I can not see it sticking. Look at the photos from the past 3 weekends in the uk. Mooching about like the virus is gone. Our democratic society, in these instances where we have a virus spreading, makes it more difficult to contain and so testing needed on a much wider scale.
Some real insightful posts last 24 hours btw, was a good read.
