RE: FTSE Up12 Oct 2019 16:19
The extortionate fuel duty makes me so angry. In the USA they only pay an eighth of the duty on fuel (about 9p per litre).
Also how am I meant to find staff for my restaurant when I don't agree that I should impose a certain lifestyle on my staff, nor that I agree with the government that making people poorer will do anything to reduce carbon emissions - the biggest emitters are the USA, China, India, Brazil, Canada, etc.
All I ask of my staff is their time commitment, focus and energy whilst at work. In return they can live where they want and participate in the rest of the economy however they wish. But what is essential is cheap fuel - i.e. we urgently need to reduce the price of fuel in order to boost employment and mental well-being as a society.
