I agree on the size but it may be part of a multiple company hedge on the sale side. It was not a £20m company several months ago. As for people giving up having been puffed in, surely the news is just starting to show some signs of positive life. Whatever the true nature of the selling, it does not make a lot of sense to me that so much stock is and has been, so readily to hand for such a long time.

Having been a jobber in the long distant past, many of the smaller companies in the sector I traded, never saw much volume from one week to the next. These were fully listed companies.
I am a bit dumbfounded how seemingly at will, the market makers can lay their hands on upto 1% of the shares in issue. Demand for this small cap AIM stock has been good over the last couple of months but I can guarantee that if I bid for half a million, I reckon they would be avaliable. Blocks of 50 to 100,000 seem common place as soon as demand shows its head. Where is this stock coming from? I have said in the past it might be a short hedge vs maybe a new world tech play. It is getting to the point that surely, if that is the case, they cannot continue to build the position further...hey ho. Stay strong

It is almost impossible for a publicly owned shipbuilder to compete with a government owned operator who looks primarily at employment, not profit. The EU somehow allowed mainland European countries to subsidise their yards. We need to Level Up The Playing Field. Sound familiar? I hope our Carnival non exec board member will help but not as yet.

With a market cap. of £20m, I cannot believe several companies are not looking at HARL with an eye to the huge coastal investment going on. Both wind and shipbuilding are clearly going to be significant drivers of capital investment over the next decade and HARL offers an off the shelf opportunity to get involved. Something about the current SP totally baffles me. Yesterday's selling smacks of a similar pattern to trades over the last few months. Clearly, someone has a vested interest in HARL going under or at least giving that impression to potential customers. If customers question your survival, no matter how compelling your appeal, they are unlikely to enter into a business relationship. The BoD need to think long and hard about how the company is positioned. A great deal of time, energy and shareholders money has gone into revitalising their various operations. Turning a blind eye to its share performance could be a fatal mistake. For now, I am very relaxed despite the moving averages breaking down again. I guess time will tell. Stay strong.

Stokey...The allowance is given for spend between April 2021 and March 2023 for certain types of expenditure. So the so called 130% super deduction is given in the period you spend the money. It therefore adds to any loss you make in the same period which for companies you can cfwd indefinitely against future profits. This carried forward loss has a value to highly profitable companies so as such, could be regarded as an asset.

RWE are a massive company which I used to trade ( at Merrill Lynch and Lehman Bros.) on the German Market. They, along with BP were preferred bidders for two very large offshore wind sites recently. RWE site is on dogger bank. Any chance of doing business with them and you can bet BP would not be far behind. Fingers crossed.

As for the SP reaction, like everyone else, I expe t a significant uplift. Two issues will need to be addressed. If there is a significant short, will he cover?
Then, I expect a possible placing, maybe at a premium, yes premium, to Institutional investors wanting a large position. That may be pie in the sky but I have seen it before un special circumstances. If they are able to finance the whole operation with low cost debt, the implications would be far more positive for the SP as all revenue uplift would be retained.
Net result, the ML would create huge volatility with a range upwards of 50-80p

Sorry for delay, was at the races..Lingfield. I would guess the trade you mention is either a cancellation, hence identical trade but with a minus sign...or a put through, where a broker has both sides of the trade and just washes it through the market taking a commission both sides.
I am not concerned about the current dolldrums the SP finds itself. A little frustrated, yes, but I remain invested and committed to the companies potential. Of course, it may turn out to be a bummer but I am happy to take that risk. I do think the price reflects shorting so at some point, that will reverse.

It may have some bearing but to what extent, it is difficult to know...but, should we close at these levels or higher, the 20 day moving average will cross above the 50 day tomorrow. This is the first positive cross since dropping below following the 30p placing in May. It gives an upbeat assess of direction implying that the downturn has been halted. As I say, dont shoot the messenger.

Well stokey, he has overseen a near total collapse of shareholder value. If the market decides to punish the SP further, on the news of his departure, that would be an odd reaction indeed. If I was a short, I would try and bash it on opening to create a negative overture.

If I remember rightly, the company have a factoring agreement to draw a credit facility against future contract revenues. I don't think a placement is needed. If the ML is granted, banks will be throwing themselves at the company to lend at decent market rates. Its survival would be assured and partners would be forthcoming.

Timing of a buy back is the key. If it is done when a companies share price is in the doll drums reflecting the most negative of concerns about is survival, a buy back, providing earnings finally arrive as strongly as hoped for, will greatly enhance returns on the remaining shares. Yes, buy backs can be a waste of time but in this case that is not the case.

Hedge fund shorting vs long in tech etc. The amount of 50 and 100 thousands that have been sold in the last few months would have triggered more announcements of holding cuts but they have been few and far between. If it is hedge fund selling, they had better hope that HARL fail to capitalise on any of their long hoped for contracts. Time will tell. I continue to add at this level. Great value.

It is the opposite to the dilutive placings we have all seen in the past few years. If you have a company with 100 shares in issue and they make £1 net profit whilst the shares are trading at 20p. The £1 represents 1p net EPS. At a share price of 20p, the 1p (let's say all of 1p is paid as a dividend) represents a 5% yield (or return on your investment at 20p) ...if the company buys back 20 of the 100 shares in issue, then makes £1 profit now represents 1.25p per the remaining 80 shares in issue. If the share price were to remain at 20p the yield would now be 6.25%. For the shares to maintain its 5% yield, the share price would gain 25% to 25p. This is simplistic version which makes no allowance for the cost of finance buying back the shares. The key is, when the company makes money it has less mouths to feed hence those mouths, providing earnings materialise, grow much fatter much quicker.

The one thing that would really change the markets perception of H &W is the confidence to initiate a share buy back. At this level, if the company really believe their numerous, unashamedly positive updates, then find £1m (or borrow it) and buy back stock. This would, in the event of a positive future, greatly enhance the EPS once net earnings are established.

If I was in the PR department, I would bombard every news, media outlet with the story of ministerial incompetence at the many years IM has been delayed despite being shovel ready. Its a risk of antagonising Poots but might get public attention and force his hand...positively, of course

Allianz were 10% I thought? Maybe they divested before and i missed it. Or not taken up issues in which case natural dilution.

Given the various update by the company and the government this week, the valuation of the companies assets is more assured and sound. Thus, I feel a per share value is around or just below the current price. With that in mind, no potential upside is discounted. To not put any value on any of the major opportunities is strange. The seller continues to be very aggressive. Volumes have been very high in the last week which emboldens my optimism.
