Just topped up with a 22258 buy (which will, no doubt, show as a sell as I paid 9.12p)
What's your interest here, observerbill? Forgive me if I'm wrong but I don't think you're a holder here. If not I really do admire your selfless approach to looking out for us who are holders.
Alternatively, are you shorting this and being remunerated for posting negative posts?
Whatever, I suspect most if us are prepared to live or die by our own investment choices. If you can provide some well-evidenced analysis that would be helpful
….and can't get a price now for a top up of 10000 shares....frustrating....but can't complain really....
Disappointing sp response........
I can only think it might be down to concerns over the level of debt....but wtfdik....... ANy thoughts from those that are much brighter than me (which will be most/all of you, I suspect)?
I won't be selling any time soon, though
Whether the JV proceeds or not - and just reading the arguments on here, both options have merit - fears that a big seller 'knows something' would have to be a some information which is, quite frankly, company changing e.g. something fundamentally wrong with the previously reported figures, surely?
I have been burned in the past with that sort of doomsday scenario (check out Globo's demise a few years back) so it's not impossible. That being said, I can't see that situation here. I'm also not sure there's been that much upside built into the sp so far as a result of the possible JV so not much to lose should the JV not happen. Whether it happens or not, it seems there's a positive story here. I hope my optimism isn't plain naivety but I'm definitely holding on here for now.
...followed by a couple of other big trades. Nice to see a bit of (positive) action on the sp here although I reckon it's been coming.
Thanks too, to, Victor.Value for the great finds......
...and another 6000 I've just bought.
Thanks for you chipping in rivaldo. There are people - well, me - reading (what I'm taking as) your words of wisdom......
Ditto, rivaldo. Just topped up with another 3630 at 17.4p with a bit of spare cash from down the back of the sofa.
Very hopeful this will head up on and well past 20p over the next few months.
C&B - travelling down from the east mids on Friday. Going on with son and son-in-law, although after tonight my enthusiasm is a tad dampened.
Might have to watch the KS video to see if that'll cheer me up........
... might see you at the Spurs game then, C&B...I'll be the one crying into my Beavertown Brewery beer at the end of the game, given the likely outcome.......
...still licking our wounds after (your?) Eagles turned us over at the weekend. It's OK, though, it's City (of the Manchester variety) and Spurs for us next up, so fairly straightforward - ha ha.
As for the big seller this morning it ain't me. I'm sticking around. In any case, I have no problem with people doing what they feel they need to. For all I know it might be someone who's made a few bob and needs it to buy a new yacht for their partner as a Christmas pressie. Who am I to question?
John - I totally respect whatever decision you make and agree investing is not a team sport. I hope you do continue to make your (what I find) extremely helpful posts. Sometimes I agree with you and sometimes I don't but whatever I find your (and most other posters for that matter) input very thought-provoking.
UTC (Up The Clarets, in case you were wondering)
Van Van - that's precisely how I described the deal to my son when I chatted with him about it the day of the announcement.....a bit like a Dragon's Den deal which I felt had meant a combination of taking a smaller return of a (potentially) much bigger pie as well as de-risking
DJ - I remember those halcyon Hernecia days . The rollercoaster of early 2011 (4p highpoint) to the subsequent demise certainly was a lesson for me.
autobits - just tried a dummy trade and been offered 2.33p so are the MMs short of stock already and trying a little tree shake?
Let's hope Noel The Troll trolleys off just now and this board can return to the usual mine (pun intended) of information and general good humour.
Biggest issue for me right now is my tickets for the upcoming Spurs game haven't turned up. You going on C&B?
Some big trades today - probably in advance of the meeting tomorrow.
Rivaldo - any thoughts, as our man in the know......!!?????
Hey rivaldo - do you have any thoughts on what is holding the sp back here? The company seems to produce good news and operates in line with its strategy as well as delivering the numbers.
I'm just not sure what else they have to do to get the market excited. Jeez - they even pay a divi when they're also about growth through M&A!!
Anyhow, I sold a few other bits and pieces and topped up (yet again!) here, yesterday.
Just to say, I am still loitering around here and topping up (again) in light of both the official news from the company and the fantastic questioning/analysis from our resident contributors.
So, it's a quick thank you to those that bother to dig out (sorry about the rubbish pun) the info, attend meetings etc and then bother to write up considered thoughts. It really is much appreciated.
Also, thanks for the irreverent chat when things go a bit quiet. In that regard - and we've not had much footie chat recently - I'm still happy/relieved that the proper Clarets nicked a point at Aston Villa on Saturday. In other sports news, happy, too, that Japan turned over Ireland in the rugby (although I suspect England won't get past the Q/F - assuming they make that - and Ireland will probably go on to win the thing).
Good week all.
....and might have expected that 130,000 buy to have pushed up the sp.......?
Would be helpful if the directors chipped in and bought a few, too.
Think, from memory, there was a big seller a few months back. Maybes/he has sold up? Anyhow, I've just had another little top up of 3000 shares at 15.135p (so not a sell, when it shows up)
Still a long hard slog to get the sp moving, though, rivaldo.
Anyhow, just noticed you're also in OPG. I've been there, too for quite a while and seen a fair few ups and downs!! Undervalued but unloved (to some extent, understandably) cos of the coal-fired nature of their power generation and the whole environmental/climate change agenda. Sorry for the O/T here everyone.
It's a compelling case imho. Let's hope others finally catch on and this starts moving northwards.
Not sure what else a potential investor would want really than a low P/E and high yield. Ah well, as you know, rivaldo, my dear old thing, I'm hanging on in here and, indeed, still topping up at these levels when I have some spare funds.
