What a great stock this has been for me and hopefully others on here over many years.
Hold at a low average price thereby giving a great yield on it.
Even for any newer investor, the current yield is not too shabby.

As for the FAANGS. Hugely overvalued.

How have faangs been doing since? very well is my guess

Stay calm people. There WILL be pullbacks, especially if the US Bond / Equity markets tank. Sit it out and collect the dividends

This was after a fall in share price as well.

Bought in on Friday - 85k shares @116.30. I like the covered (7.35%) dividend, management's commitment to it, low P/E, lack of sp premium to NAV, manageable debt and double digit ROE and Margins.
Doesn't matter if it falls in the short term, I see this at least 25% higher in the not too distant future.

Now that is before consolidation making it equivalent very roughly to over £17 per share. Current price £2.84.
Good job you are a 'buy and sit' investor. You will have a lot of sitting to do waiting to break even, and currently with a yield of Zero.

The BOD has already been given permission to purchase 7,088,402,568 shares.
What did you not understand about 'the same period'.
With further permissions (formality) and with a policy of buybacks a lot of money could be spent on buybacks over a 9-10 year period.

btw - these large historic purchases that you say you have made in standard chartered and Hsbc - why is it that you have never made a single post of the boards of those banks?
and why is it that you are now occupying the Lloyds board?

If they spent £22 Billion though on buybacks over the same period, then yes you should see a significant increase in share price.

Unfortunately you cannot simply add on the amount of PPI payments that Lloyds has had to pay out over a number of years and simply add it to the current market cap, but it certainly gives an indication of how much over the same period in the future would be available for shareholder returns and acquisitions.

Any reduction below 5% by member states in the EU would be in breach of EU directives.
Of course in the current circumstances member states may ask for an exception to the rules, and indeed if there were a lot of states asking then possibly the eu would grant a reduction throughout the eu until further notice, but that is not the case at the moment.In the case of the Czechs they had a rate of over 20%

The EU would not allow the vat to be cut from 5%, simple - but now not being a member state, the government if it so chooses can scrap it, not that it would have much impact against wholesale prices.
