RE: UK house prices down by 5.3% in August1 Sep 2023 14:20
Inheritance tax needs to be scrapped or at second best raised to at least a £10 million threshold before it kicks in.
Crazy that many people who have had every day jobs all their lives find that with increasing property prices they may leave an estate where a 40% tax is levied - this of course is especially true of London and surrounding areas.
A fall in house prices would be welcome by some.
While I am at it, an outrageous tax is the one that is paid, simply because a homeowner wants to move from A to B.
