Too many people are ready to slate the BOD's simply because of what the stock market wishes to value Lloyds banking group at.

Excellent - hopefully 2024 will see a doubling in share price from my last about 82p purchase.

an individuals percentage return would depend on their purchasing price level. An investor has had plenty of opportunity recently to purchase for the first time or to make a further purchases giving a 14% + divi/buyback total return on such investment.

We have had people saying that they should have loaded up big time at 24p but didn't. We may in the future have people saying the same about the 40p and below level of more recent times. You do not make gains from retrospective 'should have' purchases, only real time ones.

why would seeing orders help with that. Personally I am not interested in seeing the market order queue .

I pick what I consider to be a good entry point when the market price is at a level at which I am happy to trade at. With Lloyds last time it was at under 40p about 5 weeks ago. Seeing a queue of orders may simply give you an indication of where you would be in the queue on a particular day, if a limit order was made.

More that it is depositors money that has been loaned out, which would include you if you have a cash deposit at Lloyds. The BOD's decide on investments and policy regarding returns to shareholders. There current policy is having a progressive dividend with further returns by way of share buybacks for cancellation. They were planning to take what they regard as excess capital off of the balance sheet by the end of 2024. We will have to wait and see if all excess capital is returned to shareholders or used on investments.

The Telegraph remained a going concern (not written off). I imagine a write down would have been made based on a past valuation, so possibly about a half Billion pound write down. In more recent times the business has improved and indeed very recently it became a possibility of obtaining more than had previously been expected .It was only in the summer that some were estimating a value of as low as £400 million. The main thing is that a return from the Telegraph may well be a good amount greater than that expected not many months ago.

People with knowledge of the matter said, that the slide rule is being run over Lloyds, to evaluate what would be required as a knockout takeover offer, but asking not to be identified because the information is private.
