'they' ?
the buyback can run until the end of 2024. The ALGO will operate within certain parameters. The algo is not responsible for the number of investors willing to put in 'asking prices' at any given level, giving more purchasing opportunities. An Algo will not make the running with ever increased bid prices, but takes what is on offer from ask prices, provided once again the ask prices are within a pre determined criteria.
Institutional investors I am sure, are happy to see their percentage ownership of Lloyds increase once again by about 6% without having to purchase a single additional share themselves if they do not wish to do so.
Once again the individual investor ownership of Lloyds is likely to fall further as the weak sell out.
Lloyds as with many other UK stocks, is far far away from being overpriced (nowhere near) , but would be more than happy for buybacks to be continued at way undervalued levels.
