The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Perhaps they're making sure that they've actually got it right this time, before issuing an RNS. After this week's debacle, I'd see that as a positive and a sign that lessons have at least been learned.
Indeed. With more CLNs coming our way soon as well. Super.
It's a fair point GS. I don't know why I expect any different. If this goes belly up they'll be the same ones howling about legal action and setting up 'shareholder action groups', long after the horse has bolted. Always the same with bulletin boards for AIM penny stocks.
"its a free market sell up and move on"
Yawn. Well we're flying through the generic bulletin board tropes this morning aren't we? I wasn't aware this was a supporters club where only positive views are permitted and everyone else should just 'sell up and move on'.
We end up with the same tedious guff being trotted out whenever anyone posts a critical view on these things. The business still has plenty of potential; it just needs an urgent change of leadership, in my view.
"of course if you or others were that bright then better than this company then why got involved in the first place ?"
This is just silly, not to mention borderline incoherent. Everyone backs a dog once in a while. Plenty of companies show a lot of promise and then fail to live up to those expectations. It doesn't invalidate the opinions of those who bought in to the potential. Also, the company isn't 'creating business' at all. They've bought some business, I'll give you that, but their track record of organic revenue creation is dismal.
It's very easy to sit there in the back of the clown car, pretending to be the calm, logical voice of reason and saying things like 'be patient' and 'trust in the process', while the wheels and doors are flying off at high speed. For the rest of us, pointing out that the car appears to be hurtling towards disaster is a reasonable thing to do.
Farewell VictorWhateveryournamewas. We hardly knew ye.
"As for why it didn't happen today and this month and now when I want it"
This is a pretty flimsy attempt at deflecting legitimate criticism. It'd be a bit more credible if the company itself hadn't made an announcement via RNS, which it has subsequently failed to execute. It raises a question of basic competence. If they can't get a simple name change right, why should we automatically assume they're in complete control of their more complex challenges?
"if a company whose main product is virtual entertainment can't make money when the whole world is shut up in their houses you need to ask are they ever going to make money?"
Yes, this is the company's biggest failing. Letting this opportunity completely pass them by is unforgivable and yet, here we are. The dopes here saying 'people will be allowed back in to concerts soon, so then we'll be flying' have, predictably, completely missed the point.
I wouldn't worry about it. There are a small handful of people on here who are deep underwater in this share. You won't ever see them criticising the company for anything, because they're in way too deep to be objective. Just ignore them, like everyone else does.
Unless you look at the U.S. website of course, which still shows a completely different BoD under the 'Rhapsody' name - https://us.napster.com/about
This is a real dog's dinner. Exactly the sort of amateurish, half-arsed shambles we've come to expect from this company.
"luckily he didn't get burnt"
Unlike his shareholders! I'm generally in a pretty good mood as the rest of my portfolio has been flying today, especially with U.S. stocks bouncing back from last week's slump. It's unspeakably frustrating that this company still can't get its act together however.
Honestly, what a shambles.
"and why are they incapable of doing anything well?"
I don't know if that's fair. They do 'rank amateurishness and continually blowing significant opportunities' better than pretty much any other company I've ever been invested in.
Yes, I think we were all hoping for a bit more of a grand entrance tbh.
That Mushroom Man guy does a far better job on comms than the actual company does. They should offer him a job.
Lol. Well it's certainly a badge of something, I'll give you that.
Good to see you back Albert. I trust the time on the naughty step will have had the desired effect.
Well then, the RNS is out. Napster here we come.
Yes, KoK is spot on here. The 360 technology works fine on mobile. Obviously it isn't nearly as immersive as watching via a high resolution VR headset, but it does work as intended.
Lol, I see my previous advice has been ignored already. Glug glug. No wonder my Diageo shares have been flying lately.
I don't expect you to understand anything, given that you appear to have the IQ of a postage stamp. Everyone else here seems to manage just fine.
Enjoy your evening. Try not to overindulge again; you've already had your fill of humiliating late night rants for one week.
