I'd like to mention RichKen because it was his links to info that lead me here.
Irrespective of people's views regarding so called ramping etc , some of the childish name calling was unacceptable. Same with Myles. They gave me the research links and I read extensively ( understatement) .
DYOR is the mantra and it's true we do need to read between the lines.
Our money , our responsibility, simple.
But thanks to Myles, Rich and numerous others that posted links , explanations etc.

My level of concern for those that sold is mirrored by what I believe will be their level of concern should us lth be wrong.

My belief is it's about making enough stock to keep going once they start.
Opening schools etc and then having to close again due to lack of supplies would be political suicide.

Agree completely. From a political PR point of view , this government love a consortium or a we're in this together look.
Examples being the ventilator crisis, all companies helping, vaccine and getting the army involved with logistics etc etc.
Can't see the testing, yet to be announced, being any different.
Any test that works, including ours hopefully, will be bought and used asap.
And again Boris will be front and centre of good news, why wouldn't he be ?

C'mon guys, the board is for info exchange hopefully and most of the letters are there but necessarily all in the right order ( regards to Eric Morecambe)

If the government has/gets a suitable 'sovereign' ( hopefully ours) rapid test it'll promote it just for the PR alone.
