You are correct, Starmer did say that. I made a mistake in stating that he 'describes himself as a Centrist'.

His policies are Centrist and in a 2022 speech, he declared that Labour is "once again the party of the centre-ground"

Therefore, it would have been correct if i had stated 'He likes to describe his Party as Centrist'.

That is what i was trying to convey.
