This isn't predominantly about the drivers. It's about rail workers as a whole & the safety of those employees and the safety of those that travel on the railways. The drivers are a tiny percentage of the workforce. We need MORE Unions & less populist politicians playing the crowd for fools and wrecking peoples lives in the process. The blame lies with Johnson for these strikes. His government have not even had the decency to get around the table and discuss the issues. They are meant to SERVE the people, we are not their servants. Rail workers are not champagne Charlie's enjoying the high life. The wealth in this country needs to be shared around & not left in the pocket of the top 1% whilst the rest of us graft, barely able to afford to eat & heat our homes.

What percentage of rail workers are train drivers?
Also, drivers get paid well because they have the lives of people in their hands. The issue for many is about the extra hours they are being made to work. Drivers work 32 weekends a year as it is & they are being asked to do more, for less pay. Also, the safety of passengers & staff is being put at risk due to changes to the safety regs.
The government could at least talk to those representing rail workers. They refuse, because they like a diversion from their ****show.

You're correct, i misread you & hadn't read what you were replying to when i posted. I have never had a credit card either & though i haven't borrowed i would if the need arose & a good opportunity needed funds. I certainly wouldn't borrow for luxurys.

Also, BP. are a huge player in the future of hydrogen as a 'clean' fuel. They own key patents (it's the reason i'm here).
