There seems to be 2 or 3 posters this morning attempting to plant a seed of doubt/uncertainty in the project and the timelines. This happens every week or so.
The company have stated in an RNS that the LOI is expected this quarter and the shareholder agreement is being finalised this quarter also.
We may also receive news soon of the JCC ( all potentially in the next 6 weeks).
It has been stated over and over that there is an absolute need for this project and both governments are fully behind it. It also has a significant element of clean energy so for people to state this is a dated project is ridiculous.
Meetings are happening daily in the Pakistan government both in person and video link, a progress update could come any day.
Casper, your research is valued by shareholders so if you are back in or not I hope you continue to share the info.
I do feel that things are close. The proactive investors interview on Friday was unexpected but very positive. Reading between the lines I think the company where saying things are on track and news is coming.
LOI and shareholder agreement all this quarter, lots to look forward to. I know a few of us have had a bit of fun with predicting when LOI will be (I chose a week on Wednesday) however, it is now 2 months since the application was submitted, I think it was 15-30 days to process so this could land and day soon (fingers crossed)!
Good post and I completely agree.
Also, the Consortium agreement supersedes the JDA and is called a “material development” by the company. This established the project shareholder structure (orcp 12%, China Coal 73% and HH Private Office 15%).
The JDA as you have pointed out and then the Consortium Agreement where put together to satisfy the Pakistan government of the shareholder structure and will allow them to issue the LOI. This is due any time soon along with the signed shareholder agreement.
The CEO has pointed out that they are working with one of the largest coal companies in the world and a prominent member of the UAE Royal Family. It was also pointed out in the CA agreement RNS that the LOI is the next major step for the company and demonstrates all parties are united in focus to develop and operate this project.
Maybe the CPEC parliamentary meeting tomorrow will give us some news on the progress?
I can see everyone has their own opinion on the long term/short term position of the company.
The great thing about investing is that it is your decision what you do with your money.
Those that want to take a profit on the near term news of the LOI and the shareholder agreement should do well.
Those that want to leave their funds to work longer term will do so.
In my opinion neither decision is the right or wrong way, it’s simply based on your research and strategy going forward.
I’m hoping for some information soon on progress, maybe the parliamentary CPEC meeting on Thursday will give us an indication on when the jcc will be?
The General meeting takes place tomorrow and what should be the formality of the vote to proceed with the CLN.
I would hope that following this we will get some communication from the company regarding their near term intentions with some defined measurable outcomes.
Fair point, I can see the project being huge in a few years, I also think there is significant upside not only in the LOI but also once the detail of the shareholder agreement comes out.
You are right to point out the longer term though.
10-20% of today’s price? It was 1.6 a few months ago.
The LOI is described as a major step in the development of the project. This news followed by the shareholder agreement will see the project significantly moving on and the share price should reflect this.
Great to see Align tweeting their support at the close of business. They have voted to approve all resolutions. Things coming together, lots of buys today not reported until late on, momentum continuing to build.
With the General meeting booked in for 11 May we should soon start to see further progression and updates from the company and Align.
I will be voting for all the resolutions to pass, hopefully swift progress is made and we will have a positive outcome sooner than we think.
Patoir,
In a way the news is already with us... we are negotiating on 100% of the license for the first time ever. The news to come is what the deal is and what the CLN is for ( my thoughts are this will be used for legal fees/other costs to finalise the deal). It (the cln) is structured in such a way that it is drawn down in 6 month tranches so not to accrue interest if the deal is done in 1/2 months.
Rather then nervous sellers tomorrow, I would suggest we may see bullish buyers that have been stood on the sidelines waiting for this moment or former holders coming back in as things come together.
Tiabundy,
Very sensible post and along the lines of my thinking.
I think this could easily dwarf my initial expectations though I am not at all one to pump this so please make up your own minds if anybody is reading this.
Saying that, I think that we will soon see lots of action so to speak including the company laying their cards on the table.
I will be reaching round all my remaining funds and topping up again as I think the last chance to do so is upon us.
ATB and GLA
This share is finally starting to gather momentum again, it is still massively undervalued considering it was 2.5p last April based on a fraction of the news we have now.
I am sure the sensible investors will start to “take a position” as the near term gains to be made could well be substantial.
I think it was Patoir on this board that said “we are in for a very exciting week or 2”. I agree with that sentiment, I would expect the company to reveal the terms of the proposed deal soon and give the shareholders the detail on what the CLN is for.

Bugzy,
I agree.
The information on the Chinese party has been minimal, probably intentionally. I also think this is much further down the line then the company have alluded to. I think the next news will be the announcement of the deal, timescales would suggest this will be soon to give time for shareholders to vote on the cln.
