OB - Here is part of an article about the the JCB excavator ...
Construction equipment manufacturer JCB has developed what it claims to be the construction industry’s first ever hydrogen powered excavator.
The “world-first” was developed by JCB chairman Lord Bamford and his son Jo Bamford who spent two years working on the construction of the hydrogen-powered excavator.
Following successful construction, JCB tested the 20-tonne 220X excavator, powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, for twelve months at its quarry proving grounds.
“The development of the first hydrogen fuelled excavator is very exciting as we drive towards a zero carbon world,” said Lord Bamford, JCB’s Chairman.
“In the coming months, JCB will continue to develop and refine this technology with advanced testing of our prototype machine and we will continue to be at the forefront of technologies designed to build a zero carbon future.”
